JKH Foreign holding and closing for price for last few days are as follows

15/Nov - Foreign holding-321,850,683 price - 182
17/Nov - Foreign holding-321,098,940 price - 175
18/Nov - Foreign holding-320,393,447 price - 174

It is clear that during last few days foreign funds have been selling JKH. Probably they are selling at a loss because those days JKH is at 52 week low.

This is probably due to the new act. But the government and CB are telling that there won't be any other acquisitions.

Seems like these fund have lost the trust with govt.

JKH have been the one of the best blue companies in Sri Lanka. Heavy selling at 52week low is can be seen as investors loosing the confidence.

Don’t look at the dark side only. Everything has come down now. This Government or any other Government coming to power in near future will follow the market economy. Somehow now we have the opportunity to enter in to the good counters at cheaper prices. Why don't we think about it? Not only this Government all Governments including UK and USA has intervened to the market economy where necessary. It is true that the Government should vin the hearts of the investors and developments in peasant past are totally political oriented. Wait and see, better period is to come.

Totally valid point, bullrun. This is a very good opportunity to enter into fundamentals and blue chips. But the thing is, brokers are not encouraging buying. When I called mine, I was told that there is no good reason for the market to rise, and therefore better to stay away from buying.

Advice given by stock broker firms can be wrong.... Unlike previous December months seen over many years,....... next month can be a super December.... Economic growth, intensives, better quarterly results, tax reductions, foreign investments and better outlook for US and European economies can stimulate a rapid growth in the stock market. Smile

Dear Dewminigamlath,

Don't rely upon the brokers. They are also like fortune tellers. They say correctly what has happened. (Without a reason) but can't say what is going to happen!

There was unnecessary panic induced by expropriation law + the rumors on JKH also being a target by some news media.

So some foriegn funds also might have got worried especiually with overall market down trend.

JKH is giant who can always recover. But if you look closely there are other diversifed shares trading with lesser PE . ( this is for us to note)

Thanks bullrun. I don't totally depend on my brokers. In fact, I was hoping to buy some of the cheap counters within next week, but better to look at the budget as well.

JKH recently had a 4 for 3 sub division of shares. and some employee share options. Thats why its on 52w low.

time for the locals to invest more ...foreigners may have got to know about the rupee ...those foreigners always abandon and escape...CSE is not dependent on foreigners

Well, there were 4 JKH crossings today. That totally generated 457 million turnover. Today's foreign sales are 66 million and purchases are 15 million. Therefore seems the JKH crossing was between domestic parties.

its very wrong to say CSE does not depend on foreigners. If you look at the statistics nearly 1/3 of CDS holding of the market is acquired by foreigners.

Today foreign holding of JKH is 320,100,271. Yesterday it was 320,393,447. So today foreigners have sold around 293k.

Anyhow, after those big crossings, there was heavy retail buying. Seems like some HNWI are also among them.
