This is just an opinion and suggestion only .

My assumption is that all the users of this forum is having the internet access and could  log on to common web sites like LBO ,RANDORA , NEWSPAPERS etc. and reproducing those articles in this forum , what I feel is filling up posts unnessarily like . If we could do some kind of creative writing with the contents of those articles , I think all the users of this forum would benefit .

The idea of reproducing articles in a forum like this is very important

1. Members are able to flock into one forum so that they get the information in one place.
2.This will enable senior members to comment on the articles so that new members can contribute their views as well, and thus get some understanding about market pulses.
3.Majority of members will not be able to get inside information most of the time, but its imperative we collect bits and pieces of news articles to know whats happening around us.

Finally I fully agree that we must write our own articles, but very few would dedicate their time and effort, as financially its not rewarding and such articles will eventually be able to find with your broker company.
One such good company is CAL, NDB from time to time they circulate research reports to their members.

We have not seen lately CAL reports being uploaded by our members.
We use to see them in the past, so appreciate if one could reactivate in the research section for the benefit of our members who are knowledge thirsty.

As I feel the macro environment is a crucial factor that highly influences the performance of any business for better or for worse. Through reading newspaper articles, we can glean insights which may help us arrive at certain investment decisions. In fact, the more we know about what is going on in the macro environment, the more astute will be our investment decisions. Instead of paraphrasing newspaper articles or press releases, what I feel, we should spend our time on building a meaning discussion based on it in a bid to capture those insights and turn them to our advantage. Our collective knowledge and experience and expertise in different professional realms will definitely help us pick up the precious bits of insights read between the lines. This is as much important as technical analysis of any stock Smile  Smile

I am very curiously looking at the interest rate. If CB can bring down the Lending Rates to 6%, it will be a tremendous boost to the domestic and foreign investments. Stock market is likely to boom. I am not surprised if it reached 8,000 within next 24 months.

Low interest will have many good things. We have never been used to an financial environment with close to zero single digit interest rates like what you find in developed economies.

We should not rely on everything what media says. Humans make mistakes. There could be judgments of errors. We should be able to differentiate good articles from bad articles. There are respectable journalists.

Definitely, we shouldn't trust everything the media reports. But, at the end of the day, the efficient market hypothesis doesn't hold water. At times, the market may behave as irrationally as the dumbest as it's the investors' sentiments that are the driving force. For each irrational move, painful corrections follow. The herd behaviour among the investing public too is too high a probability to discount yet alone ignore. As discerning investors on this forum, Each of us should read it all between the lines and take in what is really important without being swayed by the deluge of information and use it to our advantage so that we can profit from it whether the market goes up or down. Smile  Smile
