Tokyo cement is performing exceptionally well while Lanka Cement continuously making losses. It has a negative NAV of (3.07) due to accumulated losses. The turnover has increased YOY basis but still making losses. The Administration expenses is more than the gross profit.

LCEM is controlled by government related organizations where they own over 80% of the shares.

Two companies in the same industry, one performing beyond expectations and other failing. What do you think about this situation?

This is a typical example how a government organization wastes tax payers money.

Tkyo dividend announcements

2013 July - Rs 1 plus capitalization of reserves (1 share for 10 held ).
2012 June - Rs 1.30
2011 August - Rs 1.00

What will be the dividend amount this year? About Rs 3? if so lot more to happen with this share.

There are good picks ......

Invest in companies that give regular dividends and good capital gains.

Look at beaten down stocks, Invest where the future forecast are favorable.

What's really wrong with LCEM. It was riding high at one time around Rs.30/- if I remember correct. They had valuable assets too. Anybody know what's happening now.

did they(suga) publish results? I think the main reason for the take over is ethanol. its the money maker. its the cash. the person who control it private or public can earn money.

With about 2.50 to 3.00 dividend expected buying TKYO.X up to around 37 is a good idea.
