FAILAN SALEEM JOINS PCH MOBILE HANDSET DIVISION AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
To further support the Company’s expansion, PC House has announced the appointment of leading marketer Failan Saleem to head their Mobile Handset Division. With the recent launch of Karbonn Mobiles and its ensuing success, PCH saw the need to further strengthen this division and has recruited Failan to take on the challenge.
Failan Saleem has held many senior managerial positions across industries: FMCG Marketing, Mobile hand sets, ICT, Pharmaceutical Marketing, Sales Management and Key Account Management. He is also a well respected consultant and a leading lecturer/trainer in marketing and has produced 40 Sri Lanka prize winners and three World Prize winners.
An alumnus of St. Peter’s College, Colombo, Failan excelled in athletics and is a Peterite Gold Winner, Deputy Head Prefect, Best All-Round Student, Vice Captain of the Champion Peterite Athletics Team, and has won the Sri Lanka Schools Colours in Athletics.
Speaking about the new appointment, Chairman of PCH Mr. S.H.M. Rishan says, “We’re delighted to welcome Failan to PCH and we are sure that he will be a valuable addition to our team. His experience and talent will, no doubt, play an important role in marketing our brands and taking our Mobile Division to greater heights.”
With the success of the Karbonn Mobile brand in Sri Lanka, PCH has future plans to introduce many new models into the market. PC House recently broke new ground with the launch of an IT Supermarket, an innovative concept that makes shopping for IT needs more convenient. This new showroom, ‘PCH 9 to 9’, hails a new era in IT retail. It is the first supermarket-styled IT store in Sri Lanka with a showroom displaying over 3000 different products under a multiple range of brands.
PCH is the new corporate brand identity for PC House PLC which was recently listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. The new brand identity reflects the change from a family owned business to a public company with a vision to be the benchmark for ICT in Sri Lanka.
PC House was incorporated as a limited liability company in the year 2000, after having commenced business in 1997 and became PCH PLC. Its Board of Directors consists of Messrs S.H.M. Rishan, Mangala Boyagoda, Sarath Wikramanayake, Modarage Thilakasiri, Shanti Kumar Nadarajah, Kuvera de Zoysa and Mrs. Sharmila Rishan.
