Margin Calls Again.

The inexperienced managers at margin providing banks calling their clients daily calculating portfolio values telling:
" ada index eka 150 kin bassane. laksha xx k danna . ehenma nathnam kotas wikunanna"

It means this agony will continue . I heard many people have no other answer but selling day by day.

Now we are clear the share prices at the moment are not reflecting their real value but going down and down due to margin calls and force selling.

this will continue until ,
1) banks make mutual arrangement to stop margin calls each and everyday because it will trigger nest days down fall.
2). Index go down to the limits we cannot imagine and most of the portfolios retain nothing to sell by force sellers.
..... 3) Some big fund come in and start buying.

I have also felt, brokers refer to our forum and get advises from our members and express them to investors. My adviser may do that also. I doubt his today saying. All facts have been discussed and being discussed at here.

Not true.
Margin calls are NOT LINKED TO THE INDEX.

You get a margin call if and only if the following condition is met:
The shares in your portfolio decline resulting in your outstanding balance exceeding 50% holding.

Thus someone who only had CARS, DIAL, AHPL and CARG in his portfolio would not get margin call today inspite of the index dropping more than 3.5%

My broker asked me to hold & told not to buy on credit. He said there will be a turn soon.

Fuel Price, Rupee depreciation & American statement about the human right council are affecting to the drop as per his view.

But he usually doesn't say to sell your shares with losses ne? So, why he asked this now? cpt frequently try to avoid force selling. Don't get afraid but solve your doubt by calling to the adviser again. Very Happy

All over the world similar situation, when the market or economy is good they will gve more than what you want.
When something starts unusual they are the first person starts to panic and force us to settle.
( Even here in the UK also samething I heard most of the investors experienced in 2008)
