Mar 23, 2012 (LBT) - Despite negative expectations owing to the resolution that was passed against the country in geneva yesterday, the market witnessed a positive overall performance due to retail buying sprees on selected counter. This renewed retail interest together with a few block trades culminated in helping the market post and impressive turnover on board shifting the momentum upward in the bourse.The benchmark ASPI gained 69.68 points to close at 5,422 whilst the liquid MPI gained76.57 points to close at 4,847. Total turnover for the day was 927 mn (Approximately USD 7.1 million) Total volume traded was close to 39 mn shares.

Several off the market were witnessed during the which helped to prop up turnover levels during the day. Premier blue chip and market heavyweight JKH witnessed renewed buying interest once again as it contributed over 43% of the markets turnover. The counter traded attractive volumes between Rs.192 and Rs.194 and ended the week on a positive note gaining 2.3%. The counter also witnessed over 1.1mn shares changed hands at Rs.191.50 through an off the market deal.

Counters such as BLUE and VFIN also witnessed blocks of 7.9mn and 989,700 shares changed hands at Rs.8 and Rs.39 respectively. The counter attracted retail interest thereafter and closed the week on a positive note gaining marginally. Further counters such as CINS,AHPL and LION witnessed cautious institutional accumulation as impressive volumes changed hands on the normal board. The respective counters also dragged retail interest thereafter which helped them to close the week on a positive note.

Improved retail participation was evident as most retail favourite caps and speculative caps traded healthy healthy volumes during the day. ERI spearheaded the retail run as the main share and all its warrants gained impressive percentages during the day. Speculative caps such as HVA and CSF.W0021 followed and gained 7.2% and 3.7% respectively. In addition, volumes were topped by BLUE.X and SEMB whilst ERI.W006 emerged as the top gainer.

actually im looking the data in the image (forighn purchases etc)
if its in excel or html then we can use Monarch pro and extract specific info only
and im interested to find out the forighn participation vs the indexes
