The President, as a policy, seeks the opinions and suggestions from various sectors before formulating the budget and holds discussions with leaders and representatives of those sectors in the country to obtain ideas and views for the preparation of the next year`s budget. Accordingly several rounds of discussions have already been held with a number of groups including the representatives of the stock market and trade unions.
Minister Wimal Weerawansa and Finance Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera were also present at the discussion.
