*Have look at the trade volumes, prices & price fluctuations of these two shares today .

*About SIRA, yes it gained handsomely today, but it ended in a bullish trend , so it can be expected this to be continued on Monday too .

*About PAP, no significant change in the price , so with stochastic data I sense that some good news is on the way .

*Please share your views .
Thank you .

Can someone explain to my why people are buying SIRA at PE 100 (EPS down by 66%) when ACL is trading at PE 20. Since they are in the same industry, I would think one company's loss is the other's gain

People buy LGL thinking it's the Laghfs group that they are buying. Similarly people buy SIRA thinking it's the whole of the Sierra group. I will not be surprised if there are posts encouraging people to buy NHL because Navaloka polysacks is selling a lot of bags

Tubal,
Valid point to consider. People need to know that they are investing in.

Yes there will bluish factor on both stock in coming weeks. We have been discussing about PAP for more than one or two months... Everybody looking it financial. Since it is new listed companies, the quarter ended 31.12.2010 could be released on or before 15.May 2011.. But i would see some bluish signal due to the recent transactions ( 60Mn@4.5 and 30Mn@4.5 bought by some institutions)...

Look at the Financial and Performance

High dividend payout ratio..... ( Extract from Prospectus)

Before the IPO...

2009/10 EPS Rs.255..... DPS Rs.135 Div pay out ratio 53%
2008/09 EPS Rs.311..... DPS Rs.173 Div pay out ratio 56%

See other companies Dividend payout Ratio For 2009/10

VLL 2009/10.... EPS Rs.3.22 DPS Rs.1... 35%
VPEL 2009/10 .... EPS Rs.0.53 DPS Rs.0.25... 50%
HPWR 2009/10 ... EPS Rs.2.12 DPS 1.3 --- 60%
HPFL 2009/10 ( Nodata)

Hence We could expect high dividend payout ratio from PAP for 2010/11....

look at its earnings

Pan Asian Power - For 6 Months ( 30th Sep) ----45,159,110
Manelwala For 6 Months ( 30th Sep) ----- 6,421,291
Total For 6 Months ( 30th Sep) - ---51,580,401

3rd & 4th quarter Expected Profit -----70,000,000

Total -----121,580,401

Issued qty ------500,000,000

Annualized EPS ------ Rs.0.24

Current MKT Price ------ Rs.4.00

PE ------- Only 16 times

What is most interesting about PAP is their growth prospects (they have shared their plan for the next 5 yrs)...and I think out of all the big transactions...most interesting is the purchase done by a Director at 4.90

This is a comment which I made few months back.....

World is rapidly moving towards renewable energy sources from the current high usage of non renewable energy sources such as fossil fuels (coal and oil) and nuclear power. This is mainly due to the rapid depletion of the non renewable sources and not to forget the adverse environmental impact from these sources. Some of the main renewable energy sources in use are hydro / solar / wind and tidal. Out of all the above sources hydro seems to be the most effective and efficient renewable energy source (e.g.: hydro power is the only renewable energy source which will provide a consistent load factor). So there is no doubt about the future potential of the world hydro power industry.

If we scrutinize all the power stocks in CSE I believe #PAP is the most attractive stock out of the lot. Some of the factors to consider 1) Small cap with aggressive expansion plans 2) Strong balance sheet (free of debt) 3) Very high ROE 4) Attractive P/E 5) Impressive plant factor (60%) 6) Future plans to expand its operations in other countries in the region.

I am very bullish on #PAP and would like to know your views……

All comments mentioned previously are valid and correct.
One thing not covered is that there is a stiputaled / controlled pricing mechanism set by the GOvt.

The price is the main criteria for profits. If the company depends on income generated soley on supply of electricty to the main GRIDhen this company is subject to the pricing formula set by the Ministry of Power.

If the management of the company (at least one director) is in the ruling Govt. then it is assured that there is hope. Electricity is Power, and power is in the hands of the Politicians.
