Indices continued the positive note gathering momentum from yesterday, closing on a green note. Crossings pertaining to HNB and JKH took place amounting to 44% of the market turnover. Share prices of the two counters closed at LKR 147 & LKR 220 with HNB price losing 0.81% and JKH gaining 0.05%. Foreign stake of HNB reduced by 844,734 shares, while JKH’s foreign stake increased by 67,560 shares. Interest could be seen on PLC and DOCK with share prices increasing by 6.06% and 2.23% respectively. CTC, PLC and CDIC together raised the ASI by 10 points.
• Bank, Finance and Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover (due to HNB) while the sector index increased by 1.41%.
•Foreign investors were more on the selling side while net foreign outflow was around LKR 105 Mn.
