May be this is a foolish question but isn't cash in and cash out supposed to be exactly the same ?

Somewhat complicated.
I'll explain cash out.
Say highest bid on buyer side is 50000,the value of the quantities sold to that is cash out ( no of shares*quantity)
If someone sold 80000 for that 50000 bid. Then now 30000 is left at that price. Now even if it is bought again that also goes as cash out ( cz it's bought from a sold quantity)

Cash in opposite.

Finally percentage is shown in the cash map.(Virtually Total cash out/cash in divided by
the total market turnover at that moment )

% Cash Map represents the Cash In percentage from the total turnover ([Cash In/(Cash In + Cash Out)]*100). The cash in and cash out percentages are represented graphically, where the green area represents the Cash In percentage and the red area represents the Cash Out percentage.

Sometimes these indicators may not give accurate directions of the market.
There are so many indicators one may choose, the idea is not to get lost virtually on indicators because all indicators are well known as lagging indicators.
I would like you to choose fewer indicators for this reason.

Cash map essentially indicates who were the controlling party at a particularly time or day. This could be for a particular Share or overall market. for example BUYERS or SELLERS.
Green is good for the Market RED is vice versa.
don't use this as a yardstick.
go into details of a particular company financial reports and a good entry price.so that you will not regret that you have paid a premium.

jonta there are many instances where many questions have gone unanswered, this does not mean we purposely ignore them. the idea is not to spoonfeed everything , we should be able to google or run through some previous threads to dig in whether similar questions were answered.whilst doing this I bumped into many questions that had gone unanswered or unnoticed due to so many threads or posts coming in.The idea of any forum is members need to do their homework as well, so that everyone one contribute in their own way.

((Close-Low)-(High-close))/(high-Low).

closing price - lowest price = cash in
Highest price -closing price = Cash out
Highest price-lowest price = Cash flow
therefore cash map is (cash in - cash out)/cash flow
= Net cash flow as a % of total cash flow.
varies from -1 to +1 . Normalize this and you get
0% = net cash out
50% = cash in and cash out equal
100 = net cash In.
