I am planning to start stock trading and can you guys please help me on following?

1. Recommend a Broker with online trading.
2. What is the minimum amount required to open a online trading account?

3. Suggest a way that I can get historical prices so I could draw up some charts. Or is there a software already that is capable of doing this?

4. Any other advises from you expert traders?

You are welcome to the forum....

1. My broker is Asia Securities... They are doing good... But I don't have an idea about others.
2. As a new comer pl analyze the stocks well.
3. At the beginning it's danger to do online trading.
4. Go for long term and don't hurry to do day trading.
5. Buying share on credit is danger at your level.
6. Look at some fundamentally strong counters like OSEA, PLC, UBC, VPEL, YORK, DPL...etc..(These are my choices u decide because your money your profit or loss...
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum and the market.
first thing you must do is to study the market and the stocks. Analyse their past 2-3 years performance. Do some ratio calculations and compare with the market. Study the historical price behavior. You can get all these information by logging to CSE website.

I recommend you to study stocks such as Commercil Bank, HNB, Sampath Bank, JKH, Hemas, Central Finance, Commercial Credit, PARQ, TYRE, SIRA, ACL Cables etc. You can discuss about these stocks from your broker. Any broker is ok depending on your choice but main thing is don't let your broker to handle your account but it has to by you. Seek the informative advice only from the broker and you need to take the decision.
Hope this is enough now for you to start.

Thanks. That helps a lot.

About historical data, do I have to subscribe for MyCSE?

Is there a software program that I can use for technical analysis with this data?
