That's a good one. Anyway we know what happened to presidential poll conducted by forum

I beleive many of the forum members are from broker community. So this chairman must be big problem for their crooked activities. Not to mention under stress about investigations on past activities. otherwise we can see good foreign participation which means market is reasonably ok.

A new topic created by me in support of present chairmen was deleted instantly. This has never happened to me in last 4 years. This explains a lot to me.

This online petition is meaningless. Replace current chairman with whom is the question you should have asked. For example what if the government listen to you and replace Tilak with Indrani ?

I support if you say replace Tilak and Bring Godahewa back.

I also not happy with appointment of Thilak

But after appointment we have to see what he is doing

CSE Chairman is not always responsible for what is happening in the stock market

Preset situation in mainly due to Election Budget with out economic vision and prevailing Political uncertainty

Thilak K is not responsible for this

I vote for retaining current Chairman

When Godahewa was chairman also there were problems in the economy. But he created excitement about market. Actively promoted investments. When he took over market was crashing. The problem with Tilak is he has no clue what to do ? with or without him there is no change at SEC according to your theory. Then vote for scrapping chairman post

Yes apparently a lot of industry people spoke to UNP higher-ups about retaining previous chairman. But Ranil and Malik Samaravickrema were adamant about brining Tilak as Tilak promised son and moon.

Thilak is trying to bring Dissa Bandara back as the new DG. He is not promoting long standing stalwert Dammika. Thilak is upsetting the SEC apple cart.

Forget about development of the stock market, we are just trying to survive in this volatile and uncertain market fuel by personal vendetta of the current Chairman.

I again say Thilak is not responsible for present situation in Stock market

1 The budget revision is mainly for next election The objective is to get more votes and form strong govt with Some corrupt SLFP ministers and Make money as in case of MR GOVT. No economic vision in the Budget Intelligent people know what they are going to do I think most of investors are comparatively intelligent people

2 govt has shown tthat economic management is also very poor Best example is appointment of CB Governor. Central Bank has well trained good economist There are good administrators also
Central bank need honest man Not corrupt Businessman

How can stock market can go up under present situation
Some time they may pump money public funds and follow Nivard Cabral

Now that Thilak has been tested twice and failed both times it is time to take him out of the Stock Exchange and recall Dr Godahewa. If Government could reappoint people like Gamini W, Indrani S and Thilak K who were appointed previously by the earlier regime I see nmo reason why Nalaka G should not be recalled. He has proved that he is capable to re-activate the market and it is in the interest of the country that the new government rethink its decisions. should

Stock market and contemporary economic management always go together Stock market indicator ( Say ASPI) considers as good economic indicator

Chairman and stock market may have some relation in exceptional cases For instance When Indrani sugathadasa was appointed stock market was highly corrupt place It was manipulated to make money and for BORU SHOE About the economy
Being an Honest CAS officer who did not know anything about
stock market specially with out considering sensitivity of stock market she took stern action by issuing circulars She thought Stock market is like a KAChChERI or. GOVT DEPT then the market
came down drastically. Thilak K also followed her.

This an exceptional case

Any average intelligent person with sound business knowledge
and experience can manage CSE Thilak has that experience and knowledge. Godahewa also proved it during his tenure

Preset problem is Business Environment Not Thilak

There is no point in talking about this issue. Harsha de Silva wants CSE to fail as he was the biggest critic of the CSE. His way of achieving this is appointing people who are clueless of the market sentiments to high up position. With the market going down foreigners and expats are having a field day. Idea

IMHO current situ is a correction for the run we had during March to October 2014 which had no real economic reason. However given previous regime did not change, market may not have been corrected immediately!

Further, current foreign inflow is due to interest rate differential in US and SL. It is expected to decrease foreign flows by June as US is to increase their rates. We saw this relation previously also when US increased their rates.
