If voted positively (+) it will increase the points tally of the Member. Higher the Points tally better would be the reputation of the Member. Details are as follows;

Points
Positive Votes = +1 Points
Negative Votes = 0 Points
'Thanks' Button = +3

Voting Eligibility
Minimum No of Posts Before Vote Count = 10 posts
Minimum Reputation Points Before Vote Count = +1

at last feel like hugging you.. This is really good. Now the people cannot make others disappointed.

To add a suggestion. Rather than hiding behind the windows just put a comment saying you gave a negative point due to this. Have spine when giving negative points unless it is unavoidable. Before any one judge others, they should prove they are qualified in so.

adding Thanks button is a very good move Admin, i suggested this in the 3rd page as well, when a member help another we can always use the Thanks button other than typing Thanks, when a member post stock valuation etc we can add rep, but -1 rep = -1 will be nice, also im suggesting to have a system that members get different rep powers depend on their performance (post+rep+year)

50 post minimum to have rep power
members with - rep cant add rep
every 500 post 1 rep power
every 100 reps 1 rep power
completing one year in the forums 1 rep power etc

i dont know the capabilities in phpBB though Question

Personally I think that this reputation system is a good one, it will a give a credibility to a post. But the negative side is that there are some really good posts after reading i feel like giving them billion + points , but I cant do that bcoz i am not eligible to do so.. So it will be good if every one can give away positive points to others.

my idea

Yes there are many loop holes in the system. If you want to get many reputation points you can get as many as you want....

But if we say a system is bad we have to propose a better system...

I do not know what the criteria was earlier, but since this is a sudden change, the ones who have voting rights have an unfair advantage.
There was a time when every pro PCH post got a negative and anti PCH post got many positive votes. Is this the eligibility criteria then?
What id the members who have 10+ give a + rep only if it is an area of interest for them?

Further, when you said "minors cant vote in a democracy till they reach majority", did you mean "minor-adult" or "minority-majority"?
cos if you meant minority, it is a very harsh statement also minority has voting privileges in this country.

thank you.

Thanks npp! For making a Voice!
