at times there was only 5% buyers against the sellers. When you look at the selling pressure and last few weeks pattern, I feel GRAN will touch 165 level again

How did it go to 165 levels previously? Is this new resistance level for April? Please let me know how you came up with this resistance level. It can't be buying pressure, because there wasn't much buying pressure even at 165 level

Its the same story with most of other good stocks.

Eg, RICH is going down n down. i brought hell of a lot at 13.80 and 13.90 but today it was easily selling for 13.50.... I wonder how deep the pit is....

do not make stock price valuations when they sell on daily below avg volume. if a stock sell way below the price on below avg daily volume i take that as an opportunity.

so what's your average on GRAN. Don't worry and don't sell at a lost, it should pick up.

Well It won't go below 165, that's the bottom it reached during credit clearance.

I just read your new post as well, seems you are worried.

Ruwa,
All stock are like this it goes up and then it comes down before another run. it won;t go straigh up. Remember that GRAN was trading from RS 30 -Rs60 last year before the spike to RS 260!. There were many people who might have bought this in the RS 60-100s range who might still have some. So it seems there are sellers still ( maybe taking profit or mayeb selling for margin calls) . So when the sellers go away the price will go upwards. We saw this hitting Rs 190s recently in a small run and again it came down. SO if you bought medium term do not worry for these short term downhills. There is also a buy recommendation for a stock broker for this share.

I think alot of investors get trapped in these failed rallies or mistake a pullback for a downtrend with their T+5 margin credit (so no holding power ) Same thing happens when they try to catch the bottom of a stock without experience. SO technically if we see a failed rally with higher volume you could expect gradual selling pressure building for the next 5 days and the 5th being the highest. Thats why i posted a poll to get an statistical data on the usage of margin credit. http://forum.srilankaequity.com/t2287-average-of-t5-usage but the response was terrible Smile

Festival season is still dragging on which demands more wheat flour & eggs for cakes, sweets & especially meat island wide..but hey what has happened to GRAN?..GRAN has synergies with their lucrative sub TAFL,
They have their own poultry farms, hatcheries, exposure towards agri sector with hybrid seeds and all that!!!
what about the nutrition supply, distribution channels they own..
hmm, price is lower than their own sub..

This is one of the good counter. I have collected enough at 170 level. This is a good investment for mid term and long term. It should start to move before the next financial statement.

IT will be even more on SALE when it hit Rs 150 in few days! will be on MEGA sale I would say after next quarterly results!
I know many here are married to the poultry industry and don't want to hear this but please wake up and do a fair calculation of this stocks PE, PEG ratios and also compare with stocks on same sector!

Given that i'm not married to the chicken sector here is a PE comp based on December quarter earnings. Keep in mind that Dec is good for chicken consumption so it may not be prudent to annualize December earnings but for the moment let's keep it simple.

OFC its not good to annualized the best quarterly results by multiplying by 4! By that EASY logic HASU earnings per year is 4.83*4= 19.28 PE ratio= 3.8 for a finance company!
And I can name a lot more like this!
Also in GRAN final Report it clearly states the profit for the whole year so why did you not put that and went to the extra trouble to get 3 months one and multiply by 4? If anything thats you taking hard road not taking it for easiness
GRAN profits EPS according to LAST reports is Rs 8.39 ! That is by the way is false and should get reduced as they mentioned later from an announcement!
SO GRAN current PE is greater than 164/8.39 = 19.54! And that the best value! True PE ratio should be higher after they put the audited results!
DO you think a company in this sector is worth this much ? compared with other companies in food and bevarage sector!
You decide!
