I have been in the market since 2006 and this is the worst down trend I have experience in my short stay. Since 2006 I have been a successful investor till date, but not sure about future because past success is not a predictor for future success.

However during my short stay, the best strategy I adopted is to act as a Tiger. When I saw the opportunity be ruthless, when I have to wait wait patiently till the time comes, taking chances and making big decisions quickly without any fear.

when market acts abnormally or beyond the theories, I used to concentrate on my other works. Warren Buffett said, Only buy something that you'd be perfectly happy to hold if the market shut down for 10 years. this is easy if you know the company and business well.

this is hard time for all. but this is not the world's end!

How about the drop around dec 2008- 2009 januray. I think it was worse as ASI dropped around 40% within few months.
From 2007 begin to 2008 end it was closer to 50%.

Yes that was terrible,it was due to globle downturn started from USA.
Crisis of celinco group added the fuel.still I can remember some of the figures,
no of trades 600/700 per day,where DIMO 80,JKH 55,SAMP 65(before split)

I entered around 2002, a bear period was just over and I experienced the longest bull period since 2002-2007 with intermittent minor corrections, I saw blue chips appreciating gradually over the period, eg: DIST from Rs.5 to Rs.120, then came the 2 year bear period 2007-2009, the DIST again went back to 50, JKH to 60 but no one wanted to buy. I think many of members know what happened in next 2 years, 2009-2010, Stocks broke the ceiling and sky rocketed to a P/E over 25 which was heading to a bubble territory. I think this correction is healthy for the market, it might come down a little more, then the buyers will rally and chase stocks as past. History will repeat over and over again.

Markets are not efficient all the time, there can be price-value mismatch , so that they get overheated and over corrected time to time creating better opportunities for wise players.

The intelligent way is buying stocks when market is over corrected and sell when overheated this what have done by foreign investors and funds over the last two years, but majority of retailers/apprentice do vice verse. "They try to get in a fast moving train and tend to ignore once it stopped". That's why stock market investing needed much knowledge, experience, discipline and effort, and at the same time giving fantastic returns. It's never too late to make correct decisions.

If we dig into the forum posts during the bull's time when ASI- 7800, We can see many members saying"Oh shit, we missed the opportunity as the particular stock rocketed in no time","wish it was come down to buy some more" etc. Now that time they dream for has come and knocking their doors, most stocks at their 52 week low with promising valuations, but it seems no one is interested

I think many HNWI and foreign investors will return to CSE soon, rupee depreciation will create more buying opportunities for foreign investors.

Excellent post post by wildbear ...

to be fair now i have reduced my portfolio & the now my existing fund in CSE wont be able to use for next 5 years. As Warren Buffet said choose share which you would like to hold even market closed for few years. but now my concern is do we cant expect long term growth in CSE ??? I have many read articles and my intension to invest in CSE is long term.

But now my concern is in future there will be plenty of IPO & Right Issues & Warrent issues in market. Do we can expect great growth in our portfolio in few years. If you check last few years IPO entered were less than 5 or 7 .. but this year so far more than 15 with Introductions... and further next year companies keep on sucking money from CSE. therefore will it great return..............

I hold few penny stocks (below 10 priced) & some bluechips to hold few years.. I appreciate your thoughts

Further i asked my friend buy some shares for 6 aged their baby & i told him those shares would give great return in Future ???
