As I always say, its Illiquidity arises mainly from Rs40 Bn of Net Foreign Outflow during last couple of years.

It is because of Foreigners leaving from market. The reason for this is by some Politicians and Government decisions...

Agree with most of the reasons. But how about this one?

"Negative outlook and sentiments from the investors themselves (of course affected by many other factors - economic, political, etc), thereby making them second guess whether they should invest their funds". We drag down the market ourselves, in our own small way.

I think this is the main reason. So far only good news was driving the market. We made up reasons and when the market was down, saying whatever reasons that were left. So we think after that reason is gone the market should go up.

Sorry, kama - I am guessing 2 reasons:
FEAR: Retail traders are stuck with low-quality shares. They have no holding power and they are not confident about what they have bought. So, they sell at each decline.
LIQUIDITY: Foreigners have been pulling out funds due to uncertainty; not enough fresh money is coming in.
