US has prepared the world (countries like SL) by economic sanctions on Iran, for possible oil crisis which would arise if there is a war

If the locals are willing to participate, I am sure any outsider will take the advantages.
Look at those countries that you have mentioned.
Infrastructure, freedom etc.
Do you want to live in place like this or in a place like USA ?

What u have in USA............Only the Money u want. no any respect, family relationships an all. Dose that culture match with others. now how many strikes are their.

USA is a developed economy and also do u know, they are going to be the highest oil producer in 2015 onwards. So economy is very good.

Always there will be insiders who support for others and create lavish pictures.

It takes at least another 20 more years to collect those distributed weapons from the public..........

So have they done the correct thing ...................??.

We need to pass this era. No point if giving up. If japan gave up after the bomb attack world war 2 ??????????? That was one of the biggest hazard a country can expect.........Where are they now....

People who go USA will buy a house - 25 years loan , A car - no taxes on those................that's all. And collect money come to sri lanka on December and rent a car ..................................No savings at all........believe 401K pension will look after them.

but the smart people earn dollars and do half spend in rupees. That is the best strategy........If Japan people went USA and Ausi 1950 what would have happened to Japan now........................No point of explaining. Do some thing to the country. Create jobs as much as u can. Build a good brand like ODEL............Which can go to the world one day..Work at least 15-18 hours per day..................Country will reach the peak............. Dont leave ...............If gov. is not good.....Change it slowly

Do you think all those issues that you have mentioned are only in USA?
Think about them again.
Can a person do part time work and do his/her studies and become the President of that land?
Just think about that too.
People slog more than 30 years in SL, yet cannot afford to have a roof above their heads or even a Nano at the latter stage of their lives (Unless you steal).
If you need any proof, I suggest refer to Matrimonial Column in Sunday Newspapers. People are openly offering House & Property and vehicles as an inducement. pale

If you think ODEL is a Brand, then I have nothing more to say than "Get out of this Small Islanders Mentality" only.

Did Malaysia had those things in 1990..............Nop.nothing...but now,

Any average fellow can go to a good country and get those benefits. That is a shame and a proof of their failure. They earn from others dedications done years ago to develop those countries.

We need brands like wall marts , MS , Apples and GE here .......HOw about our small Dilmha. If Mr. MJF went USA at the age of 20 where would Dilmha has gone now.
That is my point.

There should be people live here to do these things. Nothing will happen automatically. If Japaneses went to USA after the bomb attack...........What would have append to Japan.

I will also come to a developed economy once i feel i am not smart enough to do a change or due to a family issue. But still i try and learn........... Dont frustrate others. That is the best thing u people can do at last.................Dont ask others to be a looser even before they start to perform ................. That i my humble request by sake of sri lanka.

Obama's victory further strength the aggressiveness of Hilary on her agenda towards middle east countries (particularly Syria & Iran). Her strategy & ambition is to control the treasures of middle east by creating the administration who backs USA international policies. More civil commotion could be expected from radical Islamic groups skyrocketing oil prices which impact all developing countries.
As a result, both public & private sectors in Sri Lanka have to be borne the heavy burden of fuel cost which will pass to public in the form of taxes.

Moreover, International relationship concerned, with closer ties with India, Hilary will make tremendous pressure to Sri Lanka on political & humanitarian grounds with a sole purpose of changing the current leadership. At this stage, it is difficult to predict the attitude & the contribution from foreign investors to capital market.

This is my personal thoughts only, without biasing to party politics, if Obama remains in power with Hilary.
