I feel that market will crash because of JKH Rights Issue - everyone is selling their shares to buy that

Market will touch bottom on 31st September - from there on it will move up

So my advice is - sell everything now - buy in Sept and hold

That is according to their whims and fancies

If you consider Fundamental analysis The market should go up

If this market has no place to price mechanism how can you predict ?

Alfrad Marshal 's "unforeseen Hand" is some other hand in this country

That may be another miracle in Asia under Mahinda Chithanaya

or sometimes the unseen hand could win you the world cup like the "Hand of God" goal scored by Maradona !

Argentina v England, played on 22 June 1986, was a football match between Argentina and England in the quarter-finals of the 1986 FIFA World Cup at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The game was held four years after the Falklands War between Argentina and the United Kingdom and was a key part in the already intense football rivalry between both nations. It was also a match which included two of the most famous goals in football history, both scored by Diego Maradona. His first, after fifty-one minutes, was the infamous Hand of God goal, in which Maradona scored a goal by using his hand (something which under the rules of football is illegal). His second, after fifty-four minutes, saw him dribble past five England players, Beardsley, Reid, Butcher, Fenwick, Butcher (again), and finally goalkeeper Peter Shilton. In 2002 this was voted Goal of the Century by FIFA.com voters. Argentina won the game 2–1 and went on to win the 1986 World Cup with a victory over West Germany in the final. Maradona won the golden ball for player of the tournament whilst England's goalscorer on the day, Gary Lineker, won the golden shoe for being the tournament's top scorer.

Stock trading is somewhat like a gamble specially it is recognized, when capital gains are generated.

When we consider the actual use of an equity market, that theory become not much true.

The main task or benefit of an equity market is providing a platform or working as a center to accumulate funds on behalf of the use of companies. 'Dividend' is the major motivation factor. Nature of investment is long term.

However, manipulators and brokers have turned that situation inside out.
It is said, in long term, investors definitely get high return but as of the impatience, those term has only limited to words.

The problem here is govt tried to  create artificial economic indicator
after 2009 by manipulating stock market
These people may  have been received personal gains also

even now  Stock market is suffering because of that

Sri Lanka problem is mainly created by Govt not by Brokers or Manipulators
Regulators can control Brokers and  privet sector manipulators if they want

Dear D.G.

Your view is true. Government has ability to restrict abusive behaviors of different parties, but those regulations must be at outside of the market, because market should behave normally according to the demand and supply conditions.

When we explore the history, there's a good example. It is 'Tulip Mania' which spread in several countries including Portuguese, Spain and England. Google it. There are lot of things to learn from it.

The problem is that the investors have lost faith in the whole bunch of things and most are by products of the law and order situation in the country.
If that can be addressed then you will see some positive results immediately.

I fully agree.

We should try to change this situation

This forum is with more than 10000 users more
powerful than a average news papers most of them are
outstanding characters in the society
We should educate Media people,Govt and opposition politicians and other leaders in the society

If we can change this unfortunate situation which appeared after 2009
We can discus aboutTechnical analysis ,fundamental analysis , WARANT BUFFET etc and use our knowledge to earn money

The JKH rights issue will most likely not be fully subscribed.

JKH has withheld info on this and the market should correct appropriately

Management have already secured a credit rating ...... nice way to f!%# up a share

http://www.island.lk/index.php?page_cat=article-details&page=article-details&code_title=88521

The rights issue is not underwritten and JKH shareholders have been told that in the event of an under-subscription the company will fund its investment through increased debt and alternative funding sources which in the medium term will include internally generated funds.
