Yesterday Asia Energy Management Systems Inc (A subsidiary of a US based company) has exited from VPEL @ 6.60 after holding for almost 5 years. Which they bought @ 5/- per share.

Only Rs.1.60 per share plus dividends after holding for 5 years.

Strange isn't it. So why did they bought VPEL at that time & why they sold out now,

Actually they bought VPEL for carbon credits as their original business is with diesel power plants.

So to set of the negative impact with Carbon credits.

Sources say that in US now they have sold all those plants. And so they don't need to hold on to VPEL.

So that is the reason they have sold out VPEL.

Dr. Senthilverl buys over 8% stake in Vallibel Power, US firm sells 21% stake

High net worth but low-profile investor Dr. T. Senthilverl yesterday acquired over 8% stake in Vallibel Power Erathna Plc for over Rs. 660 million as a longstanding foreign shareholder exited.
Vallibel Erathna saw 187.6 million shares changing hands via 1,505 trades for Rs. 1.245 billion. The number of trades confirms the retail and high net worth investor play on the stock.
Of the quantity traded 85 million shares and 74 million shares changed hands at Rs. 6.60. Dr. Senthilverl previously held 3.6 million shares in the company as at 30 September 2014.
The seller was longstanding shareholder Asia Energy Management Systems Inc, a US-based firm with interests in the power sector in Asia and the Middle East. It also enjoyed two board seats. As at 30 September 2014, Asia Energy held 160 million shares of 21.4% stake in Vallibel Power which is controlled by business leader Dhammika Perera with over 60% stake.

I doubt prices coming down below 6.50. Dr's deals are made through Margin A/c, which means if the value of the portfolio falls below the cost, he will have to face margin calls. therefore its highly likely that 6.50 becomes the undeclared floor price for VPEL, at least in Short - medium term. isn't it.

Anyway if the prices come down to the levels you indicated I'll be in definitely.

So who bought the balance 14% shares held by Asia Energy?, is it with retailers now, if that is the case VPEL has public float over 25% now.

Ok, now everything is clear.
So I got rid of my 6.60 orders.
Its good that I took my profits @ 7.70 and stay away and let  Tho'ru Mo'ru fight.
I knew some one big would take profits. Because VPEL is hovering around Rs 6 for years and years.
If the public float is high, Will it be like PAP???

you should never ever board the train unless otherwise know the reason. My gut feeling people gamble yesterday will have to wait for some time now.

Congrats, Impressive instincts. PAP publich float is over 66%. Since Dammika Perera controls over 60% its highly unlikely becoming like a PAP

Still lot of stocks have not adjusted to the current major uptrend despite they have more value than broader market. There can be minor reactions when they see less than expected quarterly results, when somebody sells etc. This is not a bear market and these types of minor reactions create opportunities for those who can read major uptrend. Buying and selling is individual decisions. Some have specific reasons to buy and sell stocks. Some will buy and sell stocks after seeing one or two quarter results. They don't see coming bigger picture specially in a bull market. I believe by the end of the day stocks which had minor reactions yesterday will go up or will close flat today.

I can remember there was heavy foreign and local selling on COMB when it was trading around Rs.110/- one of the best picks in the current major uptrend at that time. Now it is trading around Rs.170/.  It is time to identify next wining stocks in the coming favourable industries. Good luck!

As there are different types of players in the stock market volatility is not abnormal. We had these types of things in this market still stock prices went up when they form their uptrend. As long as major uptrend is there even if stocks prices fall due to minor reactions they will go up again. For example there were minor reactions for stocks such as LIOC, KAPI, REXP, and TAFL as well. Later they passed their most important psychological barriers. VPEL is one of the interesting stocks to watch in the market.Good luck!
