CSE One year return 13.42%. What will be the direction of CSE during next eight months? Is it right time to pick consumer staples, health care, hotels, less popular banks, less popular diversify, large(Blue-chips) mid and small stocks? Finally, it is time to study technical strength for next six months.

Following Nicolas Darvas Criteria List could apply to the CSE from now onwards.

1. Double from 52 week low
2. All time high
3. Infant sector
4. Current earnings growth or expected growth
5. Low capitalization
6. High volume surge
7. Box or range near recent high

Rapid momentum, slow and steady run might appear from stocks. We saw strong boxes for PARQ and ALUF.

Candidates for rapid momentum and slow and steady run:

HVA, SHL, PABC, MGT, PMB
BFL, GRAN, TAFL, HAYL, MBSL
SOY, ACAP, DPL, MPRH, AEL
JKH, COMB, HNB, COMB, DFCC
SAMP, TPL, UDPL, ARPI, ECL,NDB

As long as boxes are building one top of another enjoy the market trend and trend for above stocks. Cheers.

Need to revisit box building on stocks. Look for stocks building boxes one top of another.

1-Year Return-13.64

52 wk Range 6527.39 - 7550.3

Can boxes pass to reach 7550.3 ?

Can anybody show me the 200day moving average with the ASI to determine the long term trend. I believe it has crossed downwards and we are in the starting phase of a bear run.

Yeap, This is called a death cross. Usually an indication of long term barish movement.
But market looks oversold due to the sudden drop.

Let’s try to apply Daravas box method in the coming months.

For starters, Darvas notes in the appendix of his book (on page 194 of my copy) that the following information about a stock are necessary concomitants to the success of his system:

  • An all-time high
  • High and low for the past two or three years
  • Weekly price range and volume for at least the last four to six months

To identify a Darvas box, one would first locate the highest price that a stock reached during a certain period. Then, if that price is not breached to the upside for three days, Darvas would consider it to be the top of the box. It is only after locating the top of the box that one begins to search for the bottom. Darvas was adament about this point. Locating the bottom of the box is essentially the same as looking for the top, but in reverse. Once the box has been defined, says Darvas, the stock should bounce around in it. If it does not, he would be worried.

If, at some point in the future, the stock pierces the top of the established box ('by a tick' says Darvas), then one would immediately buy the stock. I always use weekly charts, even to find breakouts. In my experience, I have found that this cuts down on the number of false breakouts Over the years, I have seen all manner of Darvas boxes take shape.

I have found that, in practice, stocks that bounce around in relatively straight, horizontal fashion perform quite well, as do stocks that have a symmetrical wave shape.

Watch out next couple of weeks. Touch only right stocks when boxes build up one top of another.

“Darvas Boxes provide an excellent methodology to identify breakouts and breakdowns in trending markets. Conversely, Darvas boxes are also very effective at identifying consolidating markets where breakouts and breakdowns often form and then fail.

Combine aspects of technical trading and fundamental trading. Have interested in volume and price for a  potential profitable stocks in which to invest.
