i have 1.5 acre cultivation land..now i am planning to cultivate this .what do u think which plants are more attractive in next 5 years.

1.tea
2.rubber
3.coconut
4.cinnamon
5.any idea.....

plz give me any suggestion...

coconut does not grow in tea growing area, what is your real question here????you need to get educated in botany before you do anything else.

in our area suitable for tea,rubber coconut....problem is out of three which is the most suitable...

i dont think you can grow tea in a coconut land because to grow coconuts the soil has to have a bit of salinity for a good harvest and you wont be successful in tea because of soil conditions. if it is coastel then coconut and cinnamon are the best bets...you should consult the agriculture board if you want to be successful in your new start up..with a project report to guide you straight. businesses fail because the neglect the crucial step in planning and implementing the proper procedure...there are also other plants where you can incorporate into the growing cycle to maximise the usage of land and income...please consult experts at the agriculture board. also aloe vera is another wonderful plant which has been gaining recognition for its medical propertie.

Why not grow pepper. Harvest will take about 3.5 years from the planting; from an acre we can expect to get Rs 01 million net without much trouble.

Compared to coconut, I guess pepper is less susceptible to plant disease.

Cinnamon, you have to split 50% with the pealers.

I learnt how some farmers do it with combined agriculture, increasing area productivity and lowering financial stress until the main crop starts to give you some income.

First they plant Papaya. Red-lady , Vavuniya type or similar hybrid variety.
As the plants grow they plant banana in vacant places and treat them well. Then you can slowly introduce coconut to the approved span .

Papaya start give you income within 1 year and continue for 2 - 2 1/2 years.
Banana also give you some income until coconut start producing enough in 3-4 years time.

I introduced pepper also to the system . You have to plant gliricidaa (ඇල්බීසියා) 6 month before planting pepper.
These days, in Matale, Kurunegala Districts agri people are removing old varieties and give new hybrids for better production. They give some financial subsidies to buy planting material. I think 80,000 per Ha.

Try to plant a row or two of arricunut trees in boundaries for extra income.

For papaya you need non-water logging or well drained land and lot of water supply during dry season.
If you provide irrigation to coconut in dry seasons your harvest will be increased considerably.

Cinnamon is also very good and easy to grow but you have to find peelers and fulfill their various demands. Peeling needs lot of manpower and hard working trained people.
In Ambalangoda and nearby areas they do it for 1/3 of the income. In other areas you have to share 1/2 of the income with them , I heard. That is after spending for fertilizers , weeding, security etc. from your pocket.

No no... this is from a plantation in Philippines .
I have seen better papaya plantations in Kurunegala- Dambulla area no images with me.
