For the last 1 1/2yrs we marginalized china saying loads of things and tried to get other investing countries in. Then this govt figured out China is the only country there is who invest with lesser conditions.

No one said we do not want China, People asked for the end of corrupt deals, And environment evaluation about port city. We need to bring more investment from China with clean deals, Chinese will be more than happy to have clean deals as their costs will be lower.

We need to listen media news rather hearing. Many newspapers, websites & periodical magazines provide both correct & inaccurate news. Most of news are badly misinterpreted for nasty political gains.
Media without leaning on any party platforms should proclaim the truth independently & fearlessly what is right & wrong. That is only thing public is waiting for from media groups.

Actually India wanted to put their rubbish here.That is why they did a master plan through RAW.
Prime minister ,Ravi K ,Prajitha senerathnre ,and some more ministers told openly either in parliament or political stages they font want some Chinese investments. It took sometime to understand the ground reality

India planned capturing bordering countries even before it got fully independence.

They wanted to control the entire region. For that they do long term planning and implementation.

They have done it to Nepal and Bangladesh.

For Sri Lanka they used Eelamists and NGO groups to bring what they need.

The newest plan is to capture us economically and with mass invasion.

They push our spineless Governments to sigh mass invasion deal.

With the arrival of low cost labour and services Sri Lanka will be another 3rd class place in India.

It was revealed that Medical Personnel came many years ago to work in Apollo hospital on 2 year VISA are still living in this country without being detected or continuingly extending their permits. Now they say their kids do not want to leave this country and desperately searching how to get permanent status.

I just searched to find out the qualification of the key player of ECTA Minister Malik samarawickrama. Fate of the all the younger generation, Highly educated professional such as Doctors Accountants , engineers ,un iversity Dons , Skilled tradesmen etc etc depends on this man whose education qualification very questionable. Even to question i couldnot find out any academic or professional qualification of this man . He has educated at Royal and Played Rugby, thats all according to available sources. wiki says"

Best qualification is studying at Royal & playing rugby. Yet frequent questions raised at interviews are the college studied & games played. No changes to social progress since 1948. Who, when & how to be changed is non answered dilemma.

The US government has proposed a $31 million financial aid to Sri Lanka to encourage reconciliation efforts and support anti-corruption activities as the Island nation is undertaking major reforms after the historic political transition.

"Following the historic political transition after Presidential and Parliamentary elections in 2015, US assistance to Sri Lanka has entered a new era," said the budgetary proposals sent by US Secretary of State John Kerry to the Congress in which he proposed USD 31 million for Sri Lanka as part of New Silk Road and Indo-Pacific Economic Corridor initiatives.

Kerry has proposed a $31 million financial assistance to this island nation for the fiscal 2016-2017, beginning October 1 this year.

In fiscal 2017, US assistance will be used to strengthen governance, democratic reform, and the rule of law by promoting and protecting human rights, strengthening justice sector institutions, and supporting civil society organisations, the State Department said.

The resources will also be used to encourage reconciliation efforts and support anti-corruption activities – key foci as the government undertakes major reforms during this political transition, the State Department said.

"To help increase economic stability, US assistance will also work to improve economic governance and growth, while supporting livelihoods and promoting trade," it said.

President Maithripala Sirisena, 64, came to power last January with the backing of Sri Lanka's minority Tamils and Muslims in addition to the majority Sinhalese on the back of promises to ensure ethnic reconciliation and end the corruption and nepotism of his predecessor Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Sirisena has won praise for starting to hand back land after the end of one of South Asia's longest and bloodiest ethnic wars, pitting the government against Tamil separatists.

But he is also under international pressure to do more to ensure reconciliation in the ethnically divided nation. — PTI
