dont worry. I think you can just sell when initial day morning.I am sure it may start well above the IPO price.
if you want to hold buy back later when price come down.

Expo opened just one rupee above and many day-traders got suicide. What about Softlogic?

Who wants to be a suicider on first trading day?

Oh My God.....
see....Non retailer Category...500 - 34,500 -100% allocated (have to wait & see the Total shares issued on this level)

& I guess if this is to happen in future IPOs ...then its wise to apply in non retailer category as we get a bigger quota 100%

At least now, newcomers should learn to evaluate IPOs before dumping their hard earned money.

It is natural most of the times you have to lose some money/time/reputation/..etc before mastering in any subject.

There was a time we bought IPOs without any fear. All must know that era is over.

You must read the prospectus and see at-least major indicaters EPS , NAVPS, gearing etc.

Be very careful about the EPS they give in the prospectis. Most of the times they show big EPS they had before split or before issuing huge bonus shares.

I saw in one prospectus, in 4 prominent places they gave a big EPS before 10 for 1 bonus given at the last moment prior to IPO. At last section of the book, they gave the real EPS , hardly noted by many readers.

----

Info: I did not apply for both EXPO and SOFT . Today I applied for V-ONE.
Why ?

Now a days IPO is a another business of these big companies to earn money from poor retail investors.
this is usual scenario of srilanka that big companies exploit poor retailers

Sorry I missed the most important factor needed to watch before applying IPOs these days -

number of shares issued in IPO / number of possible applicants
in retailer category
== % of allocation .

@ wiser,
Correct. Again it will be a useless effort. However, good for newcomers to get at least 100 shares in green .

They needed more money from the retailers..That's why they granted some loan scheam for their staff members to collect this...(I did'nt went for this IPO). But yoall may got some profit on this...Keep monitoring on 1st day...it...!
