dude , BIL came with significant discount price , moreover Private placement is also 5. PER is below 5 at the diversified sector.
still trade below IPO price.
so the reason investors loose the confidence on stock market.
sri lankan insurance or catering anything can not change it.

tell me how they going to save the market Question

when I print out the whole list of CSE stocks in a couple of pages, I wonder is that all? We need more good companies to make this a healthy market from a overheated steamy market.
I don't care if the price of current stocks have gone 50% down from a peak. If it is going down it is going down because it has to become a healthy normal market.

*yes we need more and more good companies with greater liquidity, foreigners always complain that our market is less liquid to invest, they need liquidity, then they can enter and exit freely without incur huge losses, but if you see many companies are illiquid,if foreigners execute a big parcel, then share price coming down heavily..bcoz of less liquidity and money flow for such a share, thats why they always prefer JKH,EXPO like companies with potential and liquidity rather than considering current PEs......most foreigners are not gamblers, they want to invest and get benefits.

*if many more companies get listed, then we may want to have a another stock exchange, thats my dream to see Very Happy
i still doubt that LITRO,CATAERES,SLIC come up with good discounted prices scratch ,btw these companies will enhance the density of CSE,but due to lack money flow to CSE,these issues will suck the liquidity of CSE(if those issues come up with billion values),so introducing IPOs in these bloody days will ruin the investor confidence and hard earned money..
so i prefer to not participate in any IPO..

so final point is-our market is less supply of money flow and liquidity, also CSE need huge investor base with high capital infusion to support sufficient buying pressure to absorb down pushing selling pressure.,but i dont see any big HNWI,FUNDS or FOREIGNER participant to lift market

Need to have higher foreign investment portfolios continuously. To build up such a scenario reliable economic indicators should be shown together with transparency & accountability of economic dealings. Political stability with low international pressures on major events would push the overseas investors forward. This could be further enhanced by incremental foreign direct investment & foreign loans increasing export oriented production capabilities. Law enforcement on insider dealings builds the trust on investors who dont possess material information of corporations.

There are so many reasons for this downturn. But, in my view- lack of money is the baseline. because we met critical continuous foreign selling throughout the 2010 and 2011. When we are facing continuous foreign selling, SEC also introduced so many IPOs. Majority of them were overpriced and folds of private placement prices. So, board members sold the shares among retailers with capital gain. Introduction of financial companies also take away the money from market with huge manipulation of prices. So we have no money to manage our market. If we stop the foreign outflow, IPOs we can stabilize the market without upturn. But for uptrend and bull market we need further money inflow into the market. Credit facility is stupid think to recover the market. we need real money. I think, our institutional buying also not enough to support. Only way is try to get foreign funds. Before that we have to stabilize our political ground. We have to try to get good name about our country in world map.

and who's gonna pump money for these IPO's. easy, sell what you are holding (bringing the market down) and apply for the IPO and loose when it hits the secondary market.
