I'm planing to invest part of my monthly income on two good shares with good long term potential. Holding time is at least 5 years. I would like to invest in a growing company or a one with good dividends yield. Expected return is 15 -20 %. What do you think is best according to fundamental analysis? Experts your reply is appreciated. Smile

Investment oriented stocks like investment trusts, browns group, Carson group perform well, financials results remains satisfactory. Banking sector is also good, currently slow moving.

Has anyone thought about aviva NDB(CTCE.n) they have a massive bussiness but their bottom line is small. So we're have not seen good results for a while, but things look like they are improving. and given the size of thier bussiness and the lack of liquidity this can go to 2000 levels at some point in the next 5ish years

Question is 2 strong stocks in the CSE for the next 5 years;
My automatic choice is JKH since this is the most trusted company in CSE. It has strong resistance to market conditions.
The second one would be SPEN as this has very big role to play in future as the leading company in hotel sector for the next 5 years.

ninja: I agree with you; from a 5-year perspective, JKH and SPEN are excellent choices. I would add COMB to this list.

Mono,
Yes, Aviva showed improved results this time. They seems to be doing good. I think, if for long term , it would be good to check their next quarter results also to see confirm further direction.
If I recall , their forieng parent was trying to sell off from some businesses so I was looking out their intentions. Sri Lanka seems to be a one they want to keep but not sure.

If NDB Aviva keep going like this quarter it will be attractive. So thanks for highlighting it.
