Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Director General Malik Carder told reporters that around 10 IPOs are expected to enter the market before April. He noted that at least two of them will hit Rs.5 billion with others expected to surpass the Rs.2.5 billion mark. State firms are also expected to enter the market according to Carder.

According to him what will most interest SLIC will be the large stakes in some state entities which will be publicly listed next year. “We will definitely be considering the Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) by state entities next year,” he added.

He said that SriLankan Airlines and also SriLankan catering IPOs that will be out next year are on the SLIC’s prospective list.

in here the government trying to increase the "ACCOUNTABILITY" of their firms..
SLIC will be a good IPO,considering their potential......
all government stuff insured in there,so sustain is not questionable......they will get a fixed premium every year.....

If it's companies that are being held by SLIC that's coming up, they will be offers for sale rather than creation of new shares.

One of the 2 companies that are going to have a 5 billion IPO is Nawaloka Constructions, according to one of my friends. No wonder why most people say that the construction sector will have multifold growth over the next few years.
