personally I believe all the members in this forum can understand sinhala.But if it is wrong, the proposed solution will will give better answer.

ma friend there r 18 amendments made to the 1978 constitution. The13th amendment recognises tamil as a official languange . You live without knowing tamil is a official language. The change was approved on 14.11.1987.

Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution

Certified on: 14.11.1987

Objectives:

To make provisions for the establishment of a Provincial Council for each Province; for the establishment of a High Court for each Province; and to make Tamil an official language and English the link language.

i'm not ma friend. go thru da post about UN resolution you'd understand who talk & take racist standard. You would also understand who started. I can assure you It's not me.

The 13th Amendment has been in the Constitution for twenty six years to date but not implemented. The primary reason for the dormancy was that the LTTE rejected it with vehemence.

And Amendments of the Constitution can be made powerful or powerless according to the government at present. one such great example is Eighteenth Amendment in Sri Lanka, where we have not yet seen a president in office for the 3 rd term...

But the primary Constitution(referring to 1978 Constitution) will stand with what ever government in office.

Roboticfx and Fxx their is a sarcastic hidden racism in this thread that wants to restrict the use of Sinhala Language and lemuria is clearly showing it.

If you clearly have a problem with the Sinhala Language go to a Sinhala tuition class and that's my way of saying the 13+ Amendment of the future.

Therefore; before this goes out of focus.. let me come again and emphasize this;

Official language of the Forum is English, but we dont mind you using Sinhalese or Tamil in between.. U have freedom to choose ur language but as I emphasised in my earlier thread, using any other language than English could only be replied by a person who understand that language, but if you post in English, there's a better chance in reading and replying..

We're SL's and Sinhalese being our mother tounge, we're more fluent in Sinhalese.
But this is an international forum and a lot of foreigners (SL's or not) are reffering this forum hence we're not changing the language to Sinhala, Tamil or any other language..

So if you want to continue the thread, let it be.. But as per my understanding the questions being asked here is "What is the Official language of Forum?" So the answer is "English".. Its simple as that..

Now do we need to clarify this further?????????????

I'm sad bcos of ur illiteracy. Our nine provincial councils are babies of 13th amendment . How can u say 13th amendment not implemented. yes not fully implemented. I'm happy dat u agree srilankan government will not implement da things from the written constitution also. Pathetic situation!

I see a lot of crap has been posted since late. It sure is causing a lot of unwanted debates in a forum like this. People like these at times make me feel ashamed of myself.

anyway to put things in short - if this is targeted as a local SL site to discuss about the Market among us, it can be in any way you or i want how dirty it is.
If it is promoted among many nationals then the 'official' language should be English and kept clean.

If someone discusses in any other language, again no one can complain as this is not a voluntary work. If some hints are passed around though, it should not be tolerated.

Posting something in a Forum is to get wider views of the issue.
Hence more responses received; it is better.
Therefore posting something in a language which would be a hindrance to that then the whole purpose of the post would be lost.

I really don't care to read tamil or sinhala if it is not in it's original font. it's irritating.

wrt that topic, i feel it has grown out of proportions given the nature of the forum.
to-date we have never had such debates on such topics in here. i don't know if it is good or bad but i really don't want to go there, cos I'm here purely for discussions on investing in CSE stocks.

on a different note, not everyone here can take debates on a fair and gentle manner. some only do talking. so it's up to your judgement where your line is drawn. someone's gotta back down when it comes to arguing in useless places. intelligent ones will do that. what is one going to achieve here?

I do not feel that we do what we should do.. This is an investment forum and we should focus on that..
I've clearly indicated the forum language is "English" and there's no need of any arguments over it again..
