Ensure that recommendations from brokers/others for buying shares to be thought twice. Market is swinging unknowing what happens tomorrow. One broker indicated current market situation will prevail for another year with increasing interest rates. I feel if market hangs between 5200-5500 level for sometime that will be good sign for long term outlook.

I think your prediction is correct. The economic growth of Sri Lanka is predicted between 6%- 8% in this year under current conditions. But CBSL has revised their forecast in recent.

Manipulated inflation and unemployment rates cannot use for any predictions in the economy. The worse trend of balance of payment will decline the international trade activities of the country. Newly imposed tax rules reduce the consumption of the economy and results in GDP growth.

So we can't see a better future in CSE with this factors.

btw there is logic

there is two ways to use fiscal policy
1.expansionary fiscal policy
2.Contractionary fiscal policy

CONTRACTIONARY FISCAL POLICY:-

A form of fiscal policy in which a decrease in government purchases, an increase in taxes, and/or a decrease in transfer payments are used to correct the inflationary problems of a business-cycle expansion. The goal of contractionary fiscal policy is to close an inflationary gap, restrain the economy, and decrease the inflation rate. Contractionary fiscal policy is often supported by contractionary monetary policy.

i think this step is good if they care about equity principle in tax Smile
