Can you guys log into Asha Phillips DFN?
I cannot.
It's funny I cannot log in to them whenever high action is expected in the market.

Luckily, I have another account with another broker which is working at the moment.

As usual, they say nothing wrong at server end.
But here, it was not working during the whole trading session.
Started to work as soon as the market is 'closed'.

And how those guys check the server is by asking a person nearby if his client terminal is working. Then conclude 'nothing wrong'.

Let me know if anyone has experienced a similar situation.

I logged in several times yes'day... no problem . usually Asha works well. may be ur account must have problem with the server / or check ur com settings such as antivirus or fire wall

Now it is working but still do not know what was the issue.
Thanks for your suggestion. Yes it looks the problem is my account specific; since I could not isolate the problem with the connection, client software or firewall settings. I have tried out different combinations as given below.

If you have any more suggestions click in your head kindly let me know.

Situation:
I have two DFN client programs ( say DFN1 and DFN2; two trading accounts one with AP other with (say) Broker X.

1. When market was closed: DFN1 worked with AP
2. During Pre-open and open, DFN1 NOT worked with AP
3. During Pre-open and open DFN2 worked with broker X
4. During open, DFN1 worked with broker X :- (so client DFN1 should be fine.)
5. During open, DFN2 NOT worked with AP

Now (today) everything looks working (DFN1 working with AP).

If someone knows how to troubleshoot this, pls tell me how. Probably, the reason is written in the log files of DFN client and server (I like to isolate the reason for the problem).

There could be a problem in server side or some bug saved in our places within last 2 days. I also have a problem of continuous scrolling of lines.

I cannot right-click to get trading details of any stock because you cannot stop scrolling. Can buy/sell by double-clicking to open transaction window.

If anyone experienced this kind of thing pl let us know.
I think this can be corrected if I re-install . I will lose the history.

I think if you look around you can find and keep the history files, work-space, charts, watch-lists etc.
Before uninstalling save them to a different place and after the new installation, copy them back.

I have Win 7; the history files are in User>Appdata>roaming>DirectFN>Cache>History

They may not recommend but It will work.

And BTW: I had a similar 'scrolling' problem (with another program) and it boiled down to a loose mouse connection!

Just installed the new version of DFN.
Coping the old History, User and Workspace directories saved me a lot of time.
It works perfectly now.

In Win7 most of the application related temp/owner's files are saved in;
C:\Users\User Name\Appdata\Local
or
C:\Users\User Name\Appdata\Roaming

I usually save my workspace in a difference place as when I install new version its easy to find then.. Thanks Hunter.. History thing is useful for me too.. king Cheers!!
