Nowadays our market is going up gradually. Foreigners bought at the bottom of the market few weeks ago and now they start to sell those share at high prices.

What we did was waiting to ASI come down to 4300 or beyond that. If we have bought at the bottom we could get a big profits within few days.

According to the my opinion this is the problem of not having an investment strategy.

I used to do a fundamental analysis and for selected shares and buy them when they reach to the my price. No much stress about the market price fluctuations. After I bought the market price suddenly came down. But no reason to be exited. Because I bought at the right price.

At the point of buying I decide the price which they going to be sold. When the price come I sell them with the pre-determined profit margin.

Therefore the best way to get the optimum result of the investment is to develop a your own strategy. Then it avoids the unnecessary stress on the losses and profits.

Foreigners are smart enough to determine time of entrance & the exit from the market. They accumulate profits out of portfolio what they bought at the time of panic selling. Let us see the market behavior in next three days.

Very good strategy for a long term investor. Understanding entry and exit points is very important. I would like to add some thinking to this as other responses are out of topic.

After deciding entry and exit points I think we should evaluate the portfolio from time to time and should make adjustments. Sometimes we may buy company X studying fundamentals. But these underlying fundamentals may change.

ie: Hydro power sector ; I had some investments in this sector last year on selective companies which are expanding. But sold late last year as they hit by drought. The companies I have selected have doubled their generating capacity from mid last year to now. But their earnings are highly disappointing and they continue to suffer from drought.

Currently there are several sectors that we can completely set aside. So stock selecting is bit easy.

Thanks so for the additional description.

In long term and mid term investments, there is no effect of seasonal changes of share market reflected by the technical analysis.

If you are a long and mid term investor no need to worry with the current price level though it accumulated a huge losses.

The point hariesha was highlighted is very correct. We need to do the seasonal adjustments for the fundamental values of the shares.
