Some system might not have updated the avergae price . But check whether you have 10 times more shares. Now Mal trading at Rs 11-11.3

Oopz..
Just check your buying power!
if you had 1000 shares for 110= 110,000 Rs
now, 10,000 shares for 110= 1,100,000

now your buying power has increased 10 times more than you had.
just check..

Here is how you calculate a profit or loss:
Net Cash = Total money received from selling - Total money paid to buy

If Net Cash is positive, then you have a profit. If Net Cash is negative, then you have a loss.

this is wats happening, extract from the portfolio

Mal.N 100 shares at 111 rs 11100 rs

after dividend 1000 shares at price of (still) 111rs = 111000 rs(which is now added to portfolio total)

market price 11 rs so total amount holding 1000*11 rs = 11000 rs

so the loss amount in red in my portfolio is 111000-11000 rs = 100,000 rs

but i wonder even if i sell this at the price of 11 rs then ill get 11000 rs..but the portfolio total of excess 100,000rs will get canceled with the loss amount in red that is 100,000 rs.........so ill get back the amount i invested previously (dont count the taxes and all)

now somebody tell...is this correct or still i have to contact the broker...?..this is my first hand experience with the dividend shares..

first of all, this is not a 'dividend' issue.
This is sub-division of shares or split.
You will see it as a loss as a result of the average cost not being updated but in reality you will not lose anything because of this issue.
if it hinders your portfolio management/tracking or if you just feel bad, then contact your broker. but there is nothing to worry about it.

Bhagi,
This is just software updating issue. Not the real situation. In the real world you have not paid Rs 111 for 1000 shares have you? You cost still is Rs 11.1*1000=Rs11100 or same as Rs111*100 isn't it. So you have not made the loss you were worried about in reality.
