One possible reason may be the low cost. So, can sell at a profit and re enter at logical price level!

@ 6, the 14day MA crossed uppish the 50day MA but the momentum ended at 6.40.
After that a bit of sideways trading were scene. Today with heavy volume it came back to 6.

It looks like some parcel has changed hands.

But at this point I see 50day MA tries to cross the 100day MA but MACD and RSI is way down.

ADX wont show a strength signal either.

Last time they gave a Rs.0.36 per share dividend. Previous year it was Rs. 0.30/-.
Historically their was a tendency to announce dividend news and later amend the payment dates.
So the announcement has to come in April or May if not byt the end of this month. bounce

GLAS has paid out 50% of full year profits. And the announcement has come after they have finalized their accounts (In April) and paid around August.

Further, so far they have 0.65/- EPS for first nine months. SO you can make a guess on which range the dividend is going to be. Unlikely it will make losses. So it will be a minimum of around 0.33/- to 0.40/-

What we can notice is they have been paying dividends (to pay the parent) instead of settling much of the debt. Interesting to see if they have changed this stance now as the finance cost is likely to hurt the bottomline.

I think they are waiting for a buyer to come and give them over 3 billion for the land they own in Ratmalana (Borupana Road) . If that happens they may pay about half of debt.

Somehow, I think within another 1-2 years time this 21 acre land become worth than the total assets employed in their main business.

That is a hidden value of GLAS in adition to their monopoly core business, similar value have with RICH with their hyde park, Nawinna and Kandy properties.Their value will rise with propety price. However land sale restrictions to foreign parties will adversly affect property prices, What do you think ?

BOI tax free period of 5 years ended on 31Dec 2012.
Now GLAS have to pay 10% tax for next 2 years and 20% there after.

RCL not bad, but improvement in TILE is noteworthy. I use to buy from RCL, they have a good range. But I went to Tile showroom recently to buy some small stuff and found they have increased their service standard, range of products, in fact they offer much wider range of other products than tiles, which is like a monopoly. ( Tile motor, grout, stones, tile gums, new method for tile fixing..etc)

This seems the case with bottom line as well. you may check quarterly accounts
