Anti Sri lankan sentiment in India,British travel advise on Sri lanka, endless recession problems in Europe, high room rates in Sri lanka, increasing competition with new investments...it's looks like future is not that bright for hotel shares.

Hotel sector has run, forgone gains
Go by selectively... Look for value rather than crowed... Look for Hemas group like HSIG

Yes, Hemas has a few good hotel share under the belt. Also STAF seems to trading at good value.

Are there statistics or data base showing yearly comparisons that the room nights occupied by class of hotels. ( 3 star, 4 star & 5 star) as the ambiguity is crept through the number of tourist arrival. It avoids many locals who visit the country holding dual or foreign passport are counted as foreigners. Almost everyone in that category spend their holiday time at their own premises or relative places. Please comment.

What do you think about HHL?their hotel sector doing well ,they are rapidly expanding their hospital chain and hydro power sector ,balance sheets looks healthy( to me),well diversified to absorb short term risks, looks like some collection going on around 27-29.

note-their investment in Heladanavi might be a problem in the future.
