Where is the momentum that we saw on last Tuesday, just before the martket closed for the new year holidays?

Looks like most of the investors/traders are still enjoying the holidays and not back in the market yet.

looks like smart money is still on the way out.
The market is up but majority of the counters have declined. Just another day at the CSE. I have no doubt that the index will hit the 9000 level by end of june and hit the 10,000 level by the end of the year. At the same time the value of your porfolio will decline first to 80% and then to 70%

Free Lanka is strugling to make it to today's top five gainers even. Illiquid counters are on the run at CSE yet again.

Can you believe BINN is trading at 185, a stock that doesn't have a positive net asset value let alone the huge accumulated losses!

I would be really happy if they allowed shorting. I don't mean naked shorting but stock borrowing and lending. That way the manipulators will not be able to drive the prices of this crappy shares upwards like they have been doing all year. There will be guys like me gleefully shorting and crashing their party.

The SEC approved borrowing and lending on principal long ago. But neither the brokers nor the cse have taken any steps to implement it. One wonders if they really do want manipulators to prosper while retailers suffer.

Ha...ha...that is very well said slstock.

Looks like it is an easy game for someone having a land - go register a company...list in the CSE...spread some rumors...manipulate a bit and dump your stake to retailers and live rest of your life with that money...just kidding lol!

Its OK, everybody is here to make money. But are they really making money is the question.

Now the chap who bought BINN at ruppes 180 per share today has to find another fool to pass that on. Eventually when the price falls, a bunch of innocent retailers will be sitting with shares bought at the peak, not knowing what to do with that.

We saw this happens in SING, not so long ago. The price of this share rose from 180 level to 4000+ within couple of months and is now falling. Even the closing price for SING today which is around 1500 is way too high and clearly not justifiable as a worthy investment.

Everybody in the CSE wants to make profit and i don't think there will be at least one investor who want to lose his money, even somebody made the mistakes on the Good Shares as well, but this is what i am again and again saying here

IF YOU DIDN'T BUY A SHARE AND IF ITS WENT UP YOU WILL ONLY GOING TO LOSE THE OPPORTUNITY GAIN, BUT IF YOU BUY AT THE WRONG PRICE YOU WILL LOSE YOUR CAPITAL AS WELL

WHENEVER YOU DECIDED TO BUY A PARTICULAR SHARE YOU MUST BE IN A POSITION JUSTIFY THE SHARE YOU PURCHASED AND THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR THAT

YOUR MONEY + YOUR DECISION = YOUR PROFIT/LOSS

agreed with you ...but what to do? who will control the unjustifiable higher price ?so called 10% price band will not effective in this ?or is it high time to find a another formula to controle it ? your views?

Regulators going with formula, they never think about unusual trend....

Price of a share is ultimately decided by the equilibrium of demand and supply forces just like any other comodity in a free market. I don't believe in price control actions too much although it may be useful in certain instances.

As I understand it, the fluctuations of the prices of these illiquid shares are not captured by the current formular due to low volume.
