Why is the market not picking up??

The below mentioned reasons are what is floating around amongst individuals. Please add to the list.

1. Foreign Investors Pulling out
2. UN Report on War Crimes
3. Credit Clearing

Please list anymore reasons as the present prices for certain shares have lowered to prices of Jan or earlier than Jan.

Also my broker adviced me to make most of the present market is to take advantage of the market from a Trading perspective(Quick in Quick out) and not from an investment perspective(Medium-Long)

Will we ever see smooth sailing?? I hope! Smile

My broker told me they had yesterday that they had a force selling. They had to sell the shares within a hour.

buying returns in response to some eagerly awaited trigger. However at the
moment nothing is happening. Punters are just spreading rumors and sending
illiquid share up and taking quick profits within T+5. This is a case study in

big investors are still not retuning from villages (enjoying avrudu and hope to come after vesak) pirat

Some shares are picking up . Without waiting for others to move if all can help move thier own shares , all those shares can move up.

I keep on buying my interested groups of shares. small quantities at a time. Obviously, I can't look after all the others shares.

don't forget that the brokers live by commission, more you trade they make profit. actually when you deduct the 2.5% fee there's nothing much left.

Friend brokers are not worry about the loss you incur or profit you earn, because you sell at profit or loss, they will get the commission, so they will be happy you do several transaction than investment, because their pocket will get packed sooner than later.

We observed that lot of traders are so much interested in IPOs mainly . like in UBC over subscription and FLCH early subscription closure. And ppl are willing to invest on the upcoming IPOs. .
Does this have any effect on the market to be red,

i think the rest of the 50% of credits in the market is actually being covered in these days. coz no body wants to wait till June to sell it in much lower price. And that is the reason for the selling pressure. Very Happy

I don't think so. Nobody wants to lose. If it's any clearing it's should be the weekly credit. When the quarter reports come out (and just before that) market will be a different place.

How could some of those shares be identified?

There are so many factors, past experience, charts, financials, future growth potential, beta value, how large is the market capitalization and so on.

For Example. Only few shares can be looked after by investors, not only that investors need to identify shares which are not stagnant.

These shares continue to move. What goes up goes further up. Even if they comes down a little goes up again. I tried to identify some shares where the share holders as well the company are equally committed to maintain trends and standards.
