You should notice that many hotel report negative earnings next quarter due to off season
You have a credit card ( i am sure you have), you will see flood of hotel offers after 31 March
So, this is the best period to go for refurbishments, generally they make money from November to March

I would be very careful to invest in the hotel sector, Sri Lankan hotels have generally prices themselves much higher than the regional hotels, lots of cheap tourists are coming in here and there is a cut throat competition for rates and out traditional markets in EU plagued with recession.

This will be a good one freinds. Try to buy 23-24 range and surely you can sell it 28 or above. I had some below 23 and disposed @ 28 two weeks ago. Waiting for price get down to enter again. There was a deal some time a go former chairman of Delmege bought big quantity @ 23. As per my knowledge He was bought PEG @ 32 and sold them @ above 45. He is a good and strategic investor so it will hit 30+. With this results I like to buy this @ 24-25 range. This Only my beilief. You may have difference idaes...

Valid point for the hotels mentioned. But Kandy and Nuwara Eliya hotels ( only a few listed) are exceptions.

Records shows that this counter recently hit over 28/- range after almost one year....

but that doesn't mean that it will take another one year to hit 28/- again....
its all time high was 37.90 in 2011?

.................STAF.N STAFFORD [DOLPHIN].... SHOT.N SENRENDIB
SHARES..... 31millions............................................75millions
NAPS.......... 26.55.................................................10.34
EPS.............6.40...................................................2.46 for year
Market Price 37.00.................................................28.00

hmm... this is what I can see from the records...[i am not so expert reading F/statements...so pls check again]

Share wise Good .....................STAF > SHOT
NAPS wise Good .....................STAF > SHOT
EPS wise Good .......................STAF > SHOT
Market value wise .....................STAF < SHOT

So I believe.. for trading or investment STAF ahead....

Im not an expert but i have invested in this share recently around 26-27 level.

For me this is very well managed hotel chain with big upside. On Monday they opened there 2nd hotel(joint venture) with anantara in kalutara.

What i heard is all of Serendib shares will converted to leisure Asia investment shares in the long run. Leisure Asia investment is the leisure investment arm of Hemas owners. For that to happen firstly they to absorb Staf.n n HSIG.N to Shot.n first. Then they'll offer SHOT shareholders shares of Leisure Asia investment shares. (Something like what happen with DIST.n)
Timeline of this happening is not sure, but some it's rumor going around. You can see that lot of funds has interest in this share where funds like guardian and candor have invested in these.

In Financial point of view there PE ratio is above 12times but below still below the industry level. All there properties has a occupancy level above industry level. rite now NAV is above the trading price, so that's one plus point.

They may be bought for a long term horizon. if you want for a short to medium-term return do not invest hotel and tourism shares until clear answer we see for Covid.
