I would like to hear advice of good customer oriented professional stock brokers in Sri Lanka. I am in overseas and using Asiacapital.lk but their customer service is very bad. simple thing like password reset I have to send few email and wait weeks. I would appreciate any recommendation based on your experience.

Regards,
Manoj

I never ever ask their advice. I know that majority of those brokers knowledge is worse than us. I need stock brokers who know at least satisfy their customer with basic use support..

Seeking advisory services from stockbrokers are pointless. Wrong information given on market drives you to hell. Not a recommendation but you may inquire of acuity stockbrokers...& their system CDAX. System problems come up at intervals but fairly satisfactory. Forum members may help you to find more advances systems owned brokers who are in advisory capacity. Good luck.

15 to 20 years back efficient broker was important as we didn't have internet or SMS facility and today it is much more different and most of us doing internet trading . Sometime one might not have seen the broker at all . As of today most important factors that should be paid attention are .

1. Availability of efficient computer system . Prefer DFN

2. How efficient the broker in attending system problems .

3 . Availability of Efficient Settlement system

4 . Stability and reliability of the Brokering company

5 . Experience of the broker you are going to deal with
6. How strong the Market research of brokering company concerned

Above points , I would say basics in selecting a good broker . On top of it you should consider what are you going to do in the market . If it is trading a through knowledge of technical analysis is a must . An investor should know the Fundamental analysis and an experience broker would help in this respect . Whatever it is do your home work first whether it is investment or trading .

I have experience with couple of brokers and CT Smith was the best broker I had as far as settlements and research matters are concerned . Their internet trading was not that advance sometime back . I have no idea about the present situation (cont. Mr. Gordon Nadesan ) . Another good brokering company as far as system and prompt settlement is ASHA Phillips . It is retail base company and looks like OK for me . (contact one UPUL at Head office )

It is your hard earned money and be extremely careful and make through analyse of all factors and take the decision .
