The government of Sri Lanka is projecting a 10% overall growth. What that means is we need add 10% of previous years performance for several consecutive years.
It's Cristal that we need to use our natural resources wisely for a sustainable exponential growth pattern.

Talking of utilization of natural resources silica mining and processing is an area that investors have lost focus. With the expected growth in the Building and Construction, Trading and hotel industry GLAS should perform exceptionally well as the market leader. The Current quarterly result is very encouraging as well.

I expect the government to increase import taxes for Glass products to help grow this sector if we are to achieve the 10% exponential growth they boast about. There is a rumour floating around that it is infact the case. But still its a rumor.

Regardless GLAS has a tremendous growth potential and it is still highly undervalued in my personal opinion. Please do your own research before investing.

I also have few thousands of Glass with the cost vary from 3.30 to 8.90. I have no idea about their business but after read the annual report for 2009/2010 and after looking for the quarters results up to now i am happy with the performance. Also if the land in Ratmalana can be disposed with the price range they expect ( i.e 600 to 800 million ) then the company saving on financial cost will be more.

Also i had a look at there shareholder pattern and Most of the them increase their holdings compare to previous quarters and public holding become less

As friend suggested please do your own research before analysis

Well when the economy expands you need more glass. and we have plenty of silica as a natural resource. Glas exports glass containers. only problem was the production capacity. which is why they have relocated the ratmalana facility to horana.

With booming tourism industry , expected increase of consumption levels of North & East and the overall economy more glass containers are needed.

Also interested to Note is, if you study the top 20 share holders of GLAS, DFCC and EPF have increased their share holding significantly in the last quarter. Smile
