My broker is Capital Trust. I want to know these things.

1. How can I see my portfolio? (Order book)
2. How should I add my market watch? I want to add the symbols that I need on to the market watch.
3. My sister and I are going to use this software. We shall use this SW by different user names?
4. How should I find my account balance?

First -
They will send you a link to download the directfntws desktop version.
Download and install it.
Then they'll send you the username and password for that. You can login with that.

Then to answer your qs.
See the attached images
1.Click on Customer Menu and Portfolio - you can see your pf
2.In the default watchlist it contains all shares. To create your own watch list click Watchlist menu and click create new watchlist and give a name, then it'll be added as another tab.
3. if you two have two seperate CDS accounts you 2 will get 2 usernames. 4. You can get the account balance in Customer Menu - Account summary

Also you can login to the directfn online web based system with the same username password.

Hope this helps

I use DirectFN TWS provided by Asha Philips. But I presume Capital Trust & Asha use same softwear.

1. Portfolio
In the quick access tool bar (top tool bar)
1.1 Click on " Customer"
1.2 Click on " Portfolio"

2. Add symbols to "watch list"
In the quick access too bar
2.1 Click on "Watch list"
2.2 Click on "Create new watch list"
2.3 Name your watch list
2.4 Insert desired symbols in "Add symbol box" one symbol after other

3. You & your sister can create separate watch lists, but use/share only one portfolio.

4. A/C balance
In the quick access tool bar
4.1 Click on "Customer"
4.2 Click on "Account Summary"

5. A/C statement
in the quick access tool bar
5.1 Click on "Customer"
5.2 Click on "Cash statement"
5.3 Update required duration ( Ex: from 01/03/2011 to 11/05/2011)

Hope you get what you are looking for.

It seems it is same for the Capital trust, but the "Cash statement" doesn't give any results for me. Not sure that is the case for all Capital Trust users.

btw, Intrinsic, have you every tried the 'Set alert' option in dfn tws, I set some alerts, but they didn't get triggered when the condition met. Have you ever tried that?

1. Cash Statement : Make sure you update the period under review (Ex: From 01/01/2011 to 11/05/2011).
2. Alert Manager : It works. Have you seen the yellow bell-mark just by the symbol you alerted, in the watch list or full market list ? Right now I can't check it since the market is closed.

The system will alert you on any SYMBOL as per the parameters set by you. A simplest case is below given.

Ex: You hold 1000 shares of ABC company. You want to dispose them at (say) Rs. 100.00. Then you feed all these criteria into the Alert manager. When the price reaches Rs. 100.00, the system will alert you.

Same applies when buying.

Those folders are the watch lists you have created (the tabs). I think if you delete a watch list that relevant folder get deleted.
