It's a real unstable situation to our market. On one side Europian Union wanted to impose sanctions and on the other side Indian government may go against Sri Lanka as the new Chief minister Dr. Jayalalitha will put pressure on Indian government for actions against Sri Lankan government.

If EU impose trade sanctions against Sri Lanka, it will directly affect many companies listed in CSE.
I can't understand one thing. When there are trade sanctions, it will lead to many job losses especially in the garment sector and plantation. only innocent people will be affected and the politicians will enjoy. Why this stupid EU wanted to punish poor people like this. They suffered for 30 years due to war and now have to suffer for ending the war.

What should be our investment strategy in this very uncertain situation?

Dear Dinesh

All what you have mentioned are assumptions as far as I understood it. Good that if relevant authorities have some preparations considering any threats in the future based on what you have mentioned in your post. So far we as a country has faced and facing many obstacles like what you have mentioned (eg. UN Report) yet we can see nothing major has happened to CSE. (Except for the recent down turn).

My opinion is, we should see positively the outlook of CSE and negative aspects will be dealt by the relevant authorities and CSE can not be crashed within days due to the above reasons

This is my thinking and open for discussion.

dont worry bro..

I would say future of CSE and Sri Lanka is bright.

But government should act in a low profile at this situation. As well as we should select the best team to tackle economical challenges and to the diplomatic mission. we know that we had the spirit to win the war and we succeed it but that team is not ideal to win other problems we are facing. obviously we need different team for different issues.

Jayalalitha wants get attention of poor tamil community that is why she is talking to the galary. Those talks are part and parcel of indian politics.
No one can influence the economic growth of country because most of the develop countries need sri lanka
strategecally. Until we do not get another war in the country market will be bullish. However, this will not continue for more than another 2 years maximally. Then it will be stabilised like other develop markets like in london, usa ect.

Too many rigts issues, IPO needs to be limited, credit issues also need to come to an end without dragging beyond June, and foreigners need to be attracted.

This is excatly what I'm also thinking about Jayalalitha.
Jayalalitha's victory doesnt make any huge impact on central government of India

People continue to bark up the wrong tree while handing over their money to the manipulators. What's really killing the market is insider trading and manipulations, even the sunday times has thrown in the guantlet and said very much the same thing.

Get this into your head: Foreigners will not invest in a market where companies with negative net asset values climb up 30% in a day.

Foreigners will not invest in a market where companies can release poor results and see their share prices soar.

Foreigners will not invest in a market where a bunch of stupid retailers think purchases by directors are a good thing.

If you want foreigners to return, everytime you see purchases by directors write to the SEC and ask them to investigate.
