This is an excellent budget especially for government servants. I get nothing from this budget since I'm not a government servant.

Is there any good thing for the middle class who live in Colombo and fight against the cost of living. The private sector middle class employees have been once again hammered.

The 25% reduction in water tariff is really insignificant and may be you can save 200/= per year. Payee tax deduction would only help highest paid employees. EPF increase would increase the government revenue and not sure whether the government will really pay you back.

Overall this budget is purely targeted towards the Presidential Election.

exactly, only government servants are getting benefits. huge government sector is already a burden.but this is the MRs vote base. another 100000 is going to be added to this unproductive government sector vote base. that also a election bribe. they will appoint them to the government before the election. retiring government servants will get a bigger pension because of consolidation of allowances.
all these will have to be paid by taxing the common man who do not get any of these benefits. next year can be a very repressive for the common man.

Real election results will come from the budget to be presented in 2015 for 2016. not from the presidential election.

So friends get ready try earn as much as possible from the current CSE positivity by managing your risks effectively.

So you will have enough in the tank to pay the taxes from 2016 onwards,
