I would rather go for JINS rather than going for AMANA.

But then again JINS have already moved alot. I believe it might hit Rs.27/- max

I not enter in to this as a investment. For short tearm trading its ok but future of this share is not much clear. There are some positive facts but I will wait some time without entering.

Hi

Just looking at this issue, and since I invested a bit in ATL shares at 1.90, I thought I'll base the calculations on this and share with everyone for your comments.

Since they are issuing a one for 2 at 80 cents,

Held, 1 share at 1.9, 2 shares cost 3.8
Third share cost 0.8

Therefore new value of a share for me is, (2*1.9 + .8 ) /3
= 1.53

So after the rights come out, I'll have to sell at higher than 1.6 to break even.

However I don't expect the shares to go above 1.5 once the rights are issued. I expect them to get me only 1.40. Also, a lot of people who bought for .8 may want to sell them for even 1.0. Eg, for 100,000 shares I'll get 50,000 rights. so by selling off the rights for 50,000, you make 10,000 on the spot (not considering the capital price drop of the initial 100,000 which they may want to keep for long term).

Why people want to sell @ 1/-?? They got shares at .80 after inuring a cost of price reduction after right issue? if they sell at 1/- then they might be at a loss? Unless they got additional shares.

You are absolutely right. I should have mentioned there are a lot of ppl who bought at 1.8 and when, after the rights issue the price went back to 1.8, they sold all their first shares. So when the rights come out,1.0 is a profit.
The comment about loss in value of existing shares covers the others still holding.
