Dear. Dont you all understand the basics of ecconomy. When a givernment is giving relief like this it is obviously increase the purchasing power so obviously there will be more business created in the market as well as mote disposable income for savings and invesments including capital market. So how come it will affect cse????? This is pure diversion...

Why you guys speak rubbish. If the oil price is reduced that itself will facilitate a growth within every citizenry. Like what see in our neighboring country.

Since there is no immediate plan to increase productivity, these concessions would result in demand pull inflation. This is not going to help the interst rates. I would like to see 10% deposit rate for my fixed deposits again. High interst rates would result in deciline of the stock market.

I can see early signs for bad economic management by this Govrernment. Looks like we need PB Jayasundara and Nivard Cabraal back?

Care to explain the economics behind this comment? Just so you know just because oil price is reduced to 117 for consumers doesn't mean that the government will be buying at 117 a litre Very Happy But you probably knew that! Razz

Yea and hopefully until you remain a small business your government will not tax it to the tune of 1000 million. Very Happy So damn funny! Very Happy

more spending power will encourage the consumers to spend money not save money. When ever the spending power is higher traditionally people don't make long term investments, specially when you can buy small cars for very low prices, people will go for those sort of investments.

too much relief too quickly can backfire and create excess demand and hence increase the inflation.

Only few people  realywork in govt institutions. Most of them are unproductive

How increase of wages for unproductive people will effect economy.?
Last govt created huge unproductive employment in public sector now this govt give big salaries for these unproductive people

I think present govt has misunderstand the real problem of last govt

Real problems were
1 No reasonable political solution after winning war

2 No rule of law and good governance

  3. Too much family power and corruption( This may be  the  main reason )

  No big problem about wages

This is one reason for the downward trend in the stock market  after Ravi K Budget
