Now market has slowed down and are seeing healthy pullback. At different times different sectors and stocks will lead the market. What stocks will outperform market in the next stages of major uptrend? Which stocks and sectors have more value?

Fine tuning the best picks at low levels is even more challenging now as the drop in share prices are not at the same percentages. The drop in percentages from a particular date is also not the best.

Maybe a full analysis has to be done for the shares that you are interested in and get the full gamut of KPI's or factors and then make a decision on the present set of results.

If you do that can you kindly share it with us on the forum please?

Yes I agree with you. It is a good idea to do full analysis on sectors and stocks .We should  identify future winning stocks now.

How can we do this?  We had strong rally in banking and finance, energy, construction and diversify sector etc. We also saw strong rally in selected stocks in other sectors as well. We are seeing fall in stock prices in some crowded stocks in above sectors with big volume. We don’t see big selling in many stocks and hardly we have seen any selling in many stocks in some sectors and that also in very negligible quantity in some situation it is less than 1000 shares. Therefore we can reasonably expect more return from others attractive sectors which has more potential in the remaining stages of major uptrend. Current healthy pull back is creating some opportunity for those who can do some home work.

Therefore one of my criteria is to identify stock in next promising sectors.
A second option is to select few sectors such as banking, diversify, plantation, food and beverages, tourism and construction etc. I strongly believe there should be growth in the areas of tourism and food sectors.

Once we identity sectors that we like to follow, we can compare companies in those sectors and then we should be able to identify emerging companies as well. There may be emerging companies in food and beverages, banking, diversify and plantations sectors in the coming years. Didn't we see some of the best managed locally grown companies during last couple of years in many sectors? We will have more companies in the future in this category as well.

Agree VP.

I will be spending the holiday time to do this exercise.
Hopefully it will be useful after the part net is dissolved.

It's entering a new stage where the CSE is attached by VUCA:

1) VOLATILITY of the money market and borrowing / lending rates
2) UNCERTAINITY in the Political Arena
3) COMPLEXITY of the CSE trading patterns and foreign investments
4) AMBIGUITY in the messages sent to the business entities and how they decipher them .

So this is a very old theory initiated by the military many decades ago and now become popular to to the similarities in the environment we face.

Thank you for some good ideas. There are so many players in financial markets. When they become aggressive stocks prices go up and when they sell those stocks and when they don’t create demand for those stocks they will go down. It is better to identify value companies with growth potential. What are the sectors that could do well in any type of economic situation? People need food and beverages and health care in any type of business cycles and economic situation. Tourism sector is additional bonus for the food sector.

What are seasonal stocks in the market? Financial sector will do well as long as we see more activities in the financial market. Different production companies are depending on lower cost and demand for their products. Tea and rubber companies will do well when tea prices and rubber prices go up. Early identification of industry trend is important to pick stocks in advance. WE have to act in today’s VUCA world. Who create these VUCA? Fellow human beings. Business leaders who plan very well will emerge as clear winners.

I found very interesting article on VUCA.
