Sri Lankans Complain that Bond Market Manipulator turned Singaporean Arjuna Mahendran on paid leave of over US $ 6000 monthly from Sri Lankan State Treasuries financed by Sri Lankan Populace' which comes as Tax Arjuna-mahendran
No information has come to light as yet, on the progress that has been made by the committee investigating alleged irregularities in a recent Central Bank bond issue.

Taking a look back at the events so far – The President appointed a committee for the bond issue initially. Just after a day after, the Prime Minister added three more members named Gamini Pitipana, Mahesh Kalugampitiya and Chandimal Mendis.

The opposition lodges complaint at the Bribery Commission seeking investigation into the bond scam. On March 17, Prime Minister announces that Arjuna Mahendran is on leave.

However, due to events as such,  nineteen days have passed and  details have still not turned up regarding the bond issue. Wasantha Samarasinghe stated that his contemporary who has been appointed as the Head of the Tender Board after taking over as Governor – He made 15 internal transfers by using internal loyalists and associates. At present he is steering the bank.

Investigative Business Journalist Faraz Shauketaly noted that there is no criminality involved since the Governor of the CBSL has admitted his wrongs even though he cost  the country around 23 billion rupees and maybe even more.

We are told that Mahendran is on paid vacation, this is unacceptable. He must go home for good.

Wasantha Samarasinghe also mentioned for the first time since independence, our nation’s currency is being signed by a foreigner. How can he appoint a friend for 50 days to suppress his fraud and stay in Singapore receiving a 6000 dollar salary. This is not fair.
