While looking for some stocks to buy for long-term investment (5 - 10 years), I stumbled upon Asian Hotels and Properties PLC. I'm quite surprised at it's current trading price of Rs. 50, because of the following facts:

- As per B/S as at 31.12.2015, NAVPS is Rs. 54;

- Annualised P/E is 12.72

- Group occupancy rates are 66%, which, in my knowledge, is a very good figure

- Cinnamon Grand, Crescat Boulevard, Monarch Apartments and Cinnamon Lakeside are the main properties

- JKH owns 78.6%, and EPF owns 9.84%

- Susantha Ratnayake is the Chairman.

Share is trading at a 7.4% discount. What is wrong with this share? Why is it trading at such a low price?

Also forgot to mention that they are consistently paying dividends of Rs. 4, which is about 8% of the stock value.

Reason is that YOY profit decrease. When in a market where companies who report massive growth too got beaten due to sentiments what talk on stocks who report negative growth.
If you are looking for 5-10 year investment go for a profitable relatively illiquid stock such as NEST,DIST, CTC or growing manufacturing sector stock or a high dividend yield power sector stock.

LITE will announce a DPS of 40-50 cents in Q2 2016. By then if the market sentiment change it will be 8+.
