Nimantha you are correct. By selling over 100 shares 220/- less than previous days price market came down by 27.85 points. After 12.00 pm again bought less than 100 shares(Infact only 1 share at 2,300/-) and closing price was 2,300/-. But index down by 27.85
Similarly sold Bukit 214 shares by bringing down the market by 1.75 index points.
If these 2 are removed market is up. This is the manipulation. Some groups are doing this and trying to collect. Dont get caught.
Foreigners are buying and economy is on the right track.
Our stocks are very much undervalued compared to the region. Last few years there were reasons to be. But now it should move up and up.

I think organized political group manipulate the market

These people are expert on manipulation

After 2009 they did it very well with two purposes
Political gains ans Personal gains Innocent retailers
have been victims

Noe they do it to control upward trend to keep around 6500

They know most sensitive shares relating to indexes

Authorities must analyst CDS statistics take appropriate action against manipulaters to protect retailers and the SL economy

Authorities should analyse CDS statistics with the assistance of the Dept of Inland Revenue (to track those who don't have tax files) and the FCID and take appropriate action asap.

Dayarathne was correct. People use to say the stock market is a mirror of the country's economy. Due to this reason interested group linked to certain political party was manipulating the market. They made millions and millions.
When the economy was not doing well they were very active in the market to show the economy was doing well and market went up without any basis.
Now they are not allowing it to go up in order to say economy is bad.
Actually economy is on right track. these guys have big money and they do not mind selling lower to keep the market down.
Some of these guys may be having foreign accounts and their transactions go as foreign.
When Thilak was appointed and try to take actions against some of these guys he was removed sometime back.
CSE should take action against these manipulators.
