There have been lot of discussion about shares which show a sudden jump up in price without any apparent reason. We call them 'Manipulated' shares.
Some investors stay away from these shares. But most of us, being opportunists, are willing to try our luck with them.
It will be useful if we can identify which stocks are vulnerable for Manipulations. Can there be any common characteristics of these shares?
My observations for common features of a Manipulated share suggests me the following.
1. Usually a low priced share (Penny stock)
2. Total issued shares are low (Less than 100 M)
3. Fundamentally weak or doubtful performance (Loss making or no recorded profits yet)
4. Unclear future business plans
I could be totally wrong but it worth giving a try to identifying them if possible.
