Yes, billions worth profits future focus would be on this type of shares, there were several large scale crossings. Those funds invested on COMB on a long term basis may return to same shares in a green market. Institutional baying took place during this month may have collected more at attractive prices. Rights issues were also adjusted to prevent SEYB type of stagnation. Bank does not sell like SMLL. Those interested investment funds seem to have funds to buy rights. COMB knows exactly what they are doing. In the past they have proven those issues were successful. Timing is correct.

Crossings were seen in the COMB.N voting shares. That means massive funds and investors with special interest are involved. There are parties interested in controlling stake. Generally they work as they are not begging for funds from share holders. Competition among large scale investors is healthy.

good investment for long term where you will get the revenue ( dividends ) & significant capital gains over the period, this is based on the past action, hope they will continue the same in the future as well

Short term runs did not work… So,..going back to cash rich conglomerates again.. Short runs may have just gained on credit, ultimately every thing collapsed…. I don’t try them again, it will be the same again ..back to medium term investments…

Surprised

COMB is a very good long term investement. But not for short term agains. I will show why:
At the beginning of the year price was 260/-. As of now the ASI has increase by about 300 points from the beginning of the year. COMB reported exceptional profits for the year ended 31/12/2010, and comparatively even better profit figures for the 1st quater of 2011.(2.0Bn net profits in just 03 months). But after all this, now the share is trading around 255/-. Can you imagine? This share should be easily be trading in excess of 300/- but it never happens. Even when the ASI peaked around 7800 few months back, COMB went upto only 280/-.
COMB is an exceptionaly well managed Bank and the returns to the investor would be mostly from, Bonus shares/ Rights/ Dividends/ Subdivisions etc. which the bank declares regularly.
But in the long term price appreciation will also be definitely there.

COMB can regain momentum in a green market after a long dormant period.

COMB does not seem to have a problem of attracting funds, COMB may succeed.

Well I too think COMB right subscription will not be an issue. If i recall, one reason Comb reduced the right issue amounts from the original is due to big investors requesting it . Now that COMB reduced it there should be enough for participation. ( my guess).

Regarding prices, if going for long term COMB is a good share. Just note it is note easy to manipulate COMB shares for sudden price rises as many other illiquids . This is a rather stable Blue Chip. I also personally feel COMB right issue is attractive. But buying before Rights for capital gain or after depends on market condition. ( bear trends pull prices down. With a + market is can rise . Thats why I said it depends. )

Yes, I personally maintain small quantities of long term shares of all kinds of Shares, then it does not really matter which goes up first. There is no bias towards any particular group or any investor. When there are stocks of all investors and all conglomerates there is nothing to promote. Real need is actual funds to CSE it does not matter what ever the group and who ever the capable investors invest new funds to the CSE. No investor or investment fund comes to CSE to loose their investments. I encourage all kinds of investments big or small to the CSE.Then all investors are benefitted and new investors can be attracted.
