Friends, I'm thinking of buying my first stock(s).
I narrowed down my choices to the following 3 after months of research (also read the threads in this forum on EXPO/UBC IPOs).
EXPO @ 14.5 (considered the sell-down)
SHOT @ 23 (considered that they're closed till november)
UBC @ 22
With my basic knowledge on them (EPS, growth potential etc.), I feel that they are good for the long haul. As I'm new to the game and learning the ropes still, I like to know what you guys think. BTW, if you haven't guessed already, I'm in it for the long haul.
Thanks guys

Genting

No i think its a good time to enter, you can get shares at a discount value, as where we have bought it at some what higher prices.

If you planning to day trader which you clearly not, I think it would be a good time, but I would suggest not to hurry it up, take your time, study the market and enter. The bear market is actually greatfor new comers.

If this is not the time to enter then when?
Some people are really hypocrites.
I suggest collect some good stocks and keep.
Times like this are very rare.
Tread carefully in the forum. Good luck.

This is a difficult time for CSE. So I feel its better to wait a for while. Since you are going to grab your first stock, even though its for long term, u may not tolerate any loss from the time U grab it and U'll end up with hating the CSE.
So now its good time to learn the most important discipline for CSE, the patience . It is for both buying and selling.

From the beginning of June, the market kept on falling. Everyday most of us thought "this is the bottom", but it kept falling.

If you want to invest now, do it, it's ur money!

But, its always better to see what's happening before you enter. The market keep on falling and it may fall further. Technically it should have bounced back now, but it keeps on falling due to over regulation. (it's not a free market)

Stocks that may look cheep now may fall more and you may find it you have bought at a higher price.

So, please do your analysis before you jump in.

More or less the same that I wanna say Wink

Thre reason behind us saying "WAIT" is to see the market movement.. We're not in a recovery phase.. its just fake rallies go for 1-2 days then the same percentage comes down.. Its more or like market waves on a specific range so its vital to watch the end of these waves till its clear to us we're heading up..

Bear market is good to buy shares and keep, also u may see that we're yet to see the bottom.. Everyday we struggle and buy thinking its the bottom but in 2 days time we realize we're wrong.. but what to be done if you've already bought??

Patience also plays a key role.. Wait a couple a more days to enter on buying side.. I think u can reap the benefits in 6 months time with 2-3 baggers even..

Good luck with your hunting Wink

Machang 2 things. As per the argument whether it is the best time to enter or not I am thinking it is. It might further slide down but on a longer run it should be good for you. Asking what shares are good most people (including me) will try to promote the shares we have in our portfolio Wink

My advice go through the forum thoroughly. You can find lots of shares with huge potential. Guessing even more potential than the ones that you mentioned

Indeed its a good time to enter to the market where you can find high value shares at a bargain. But do not haste! Take your time, analyze the trends and be very careful about the timing.

Catching a falling knife is very dangerous. Wink

There is good logic behind both ideas of buy and wait.
My opinion is u can buy now but do not invest all ur money....just keep reasonable amount to invest if market goes further down.
Market can bounce off at anytime.
It is very difficult to predict on market behaviour nowadays.

I think market would go down a bit.

So rather than just wasting your time, please create your VIRTUAL portfolio in a Excel Sheet based on your findings and monitor it and learn little more about the market.

Act as if you have actually purchased some stocks. Then you can take your decisions as if you are in real stock market and it would be a great test of your ability to predict the success of selected stocks and if you fail you can take alternative actions to learn more about real stock market, without incurring one rupee loss in real terms.
